Chapter 29
-Carry On-
I woke up in the middle of the night to realise that I was no longer in Teddy’s arms and by the looks of things, I hadn’t been for a while. I rubbed my eyes to get a clearer image of my room, to see Teddy sitting on my platform with his head in his hands, he was obviously upset about something, something in which I had no idea about. I quickly got out of bed and started making my way over to where he was. He lifted his head out of his hands and turned slightly to make sure it was me, then he returned to the position he was just in. I walked over to him, stood behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist tightly. He turned to his side and rested his head up against my shoulder, as he wrapped one of his arms around my back.
“are you ok” I asked him as I ran my fingers through his hair.
“ I had a dream… actually it was more of a nightmare” he said as he kept his stare on the corner of the window sill.
“what was it about” I asked as he scooted over and I sat down on the platform, still holding him in my arms.
“Rachel…..she had no hair, and was really sick, and crying and I couldn’t do anything” he said as he started to get upset, and I came to the realisation that today was the day that they found out when Rachel would start treatment, and I had totally forgotten about it. Talk about being a bad girlfriend
“oh god, how did the appointment go. I cannot believe I forgot” I said as I pulled Teddy closer to me
“she starts chemo in 2 weeks” he said as he buried his face in my shoulder. At this point I didn’t really know what to say, so I didn’t say anything, we just sat there in silence for a couple of minutes before I broke it.
“its going to be ok Teddy” I said trying to sound reassuring- I don’t know if it worked, im guessing it didn’t because there was no reply. Once again there was a silence
“I just wish I could do something” he said as he raised his head and looked out at the sky “she is really scarred about it all now, and I hate seeing her upset, but I cant do anything” he said in a some what angry tone as he tugged at the end of his hair.
“Teddy you can do something….you can be there for her every step of the way, the same way your parents are going to be there for her and you and A.J and the same way im going to be there for you” I said as Teddy looked at me
“Cindy, in two weeks Rachel is getting chemo, I don’t think me being there for her is such a big contribution. The only thing I could possibly do that would have any significance, would be if I could get rid of her cancer, but I cant” he said as he forced himself out of my arms and further onto the platform. I didn’t know what to say or how to handle this. It was actually making me worried. I mean today he was fine, his usual happy, loud, fun self, mucking around with everyone, and now he was in some type of depression mood, that I don’t know how to get him out of. I once again broke the silence that was now occurring.
“Teddy are you telling me that I would have been able to get through my parents death without you and Lil and Dan and Mitch and everyone else by my side with me every step of the way. Are you telling me that Danny could have gone through that move to Philadelphia 3 years ago for a couple of months without us showing our support and keeping in touch. And are you telling me Rachel would have gotten this far without you and everyone else by her side?
?? No Teddy none of us would have, because just being there for someone is the only thing you can do within you capability that will be of any help. By just being there for Rachel, not only does it show her you care, it shows her she is not alone and she has her older brother there with her when she needs you. Being there can make the biggest difference, and if you cant see that Teddy, than there really is nothing you can do” I said as he took it all in. I know the ending was harsh, but I had to say it.
“Teddy…” I said as I moved over closer to him, he had a single tear sliding down his face.
“promise me….promise me you will be there…promise me you wont leave, because I cant be there for Rachel if I don’t have you there for me” Teddy said as he looked me directly in the eyes, a look that I had never been on the receiving end of. I placed one hand on the side of his face and the other around the back of his neck
“Teddy…I love you, I love you with every bit of my heart….there is no way in hell that I wouldn’t be there for you. I promise you that I will be there, through thick and thin, because there is no way I could let myself stand back and let you do it alone” I said in a calm low tone just above a whisper as I looked back into Teddy’s eyes that were swelling with tears. He grabbed onto to both my hands that were around his neck and on his face and he bought them together and kissed them and let go, as I wrapped them around him and pulled him into a hug as he did the same.
“thankyou” I heard him whisper as I kissed his head.
“lets go to bed Teddy” I said as I loosened my grip and we got up and made our way over to my bed. We hopped in and Teddy rested his head on my stomach as I stated to play with his hair and rubbed his temples, which I knew was one of two things which relaxed him.
“go to sleep baby” I said as I softly kissed his forehead and watched him go to sleep
-Carry On-
I didn’t get any sleep the rest of the night. Teddy’s episode, if that’s what you would call it had me worried. I don’t understand how he went from the way he was at Mitch’s party to the way he was before. I came to the conclusion that it was caused by the fact that Teddy had time to think it over and let it sink in, and that’s what caused it. I mean he was to pre-occupied in the day to let it sink in, and because he was on his own, it sunk in and made him upset.
I looked over at the time, it was now morning and I was extremely tired but there was no way I would be able to fall asleep, so I seeked help from my new best friend coffee, to help get rid of my fatigue. I was in the kitchen making pancakes….Teddy’s favourite, as I heard his footsteps down the stairs. It was perfect timing if you asked me, because I had just finished cooking them and was in the middle of serving them up on the plates
“mmm smells good” Teddy said as he yawned and stretched and took a seat at the bench chairs
“morning sunshine” I said trying to lighten the mood, which to tell you the truth there really wasn’t the gloomy mood I was expecting.
“morning beautiful” he said as he leaned over and kissed me, flashing me a smile as I handed his both mine and his plate as he made his way over to the table and I went and got the orange juice. He was in a much better state of mind than last night, which I was glad for.
“so are you feeling better?” I asked as Teddy swallowed his food and started at the table centre piece
“to tell you the truth yes. I don’t know what came over me last night, I don’t understand why I got so upset over it” he said as he looked over at me “im sorry for worrying you and keeping you up all night” he said as I took a sip of my O.J
“don’t be sorry, I did sleep last night right after you fell asleep and you didn’t have me that worried” I said trying to hide the fact I was lying
“you no you are a very sucky liar” Teddy said with a small laugh “I know you haven’t slept because your eyes are red and there are dark circle under your eyes, your drinking coffee and your wearing you glasses, all which you only do when you are tired or haven’t slept all night. And I know you were worried because, one you didn’t sleep, and two because I cant tell by your face, not to mention the fact that you made me pancakes with a chocolate chip smiley face, because you were trying to make me happy so you would have to see me the way I was last night” he said as he looked at me and smiled
“well you’ve got me all figured out haven’t you Geiger” I said as he grinned at me and reached for my hand
“yes, yes I have” he said as we continued eating our breakfast.
-Carry On-
My house went from one extreme to another. Everyone was back at home- well everyone excluding Mat and Kim, which im sure would be back soon with some big news, and the house went from quite to overbearingly loud. Teddy was getting ready to leave but before he left I just wanted to talk about last night.
“Teddy, before you go can we please talk about last night” I asked as Teddy zipped up his back pack and placed it near my door.
“I think we should” he said as he sat down on my bed
“I don’t understand what came across you….you had me really worried” I said as he wrapped his arm around me
“I know and im sorry. It’s just I kept thinking about it all day after we found out, and I just kept thinking of what it would be like in two weeks, how sick Rachel would be from the chemo, and it was like my mind was stuck there……its hard to explain, it just felt like I was already there witnessing Rachel go through it, and it made me upset because in my dream I just..I just couldn’t do anything” he said keeping his eyes locked in mine. “and then you talked some sense into me and I snapped back to reality, and I started to feel fine” he said as there was a knock on my door.
“Cindy…… Teddy, Mat and Kim are home and they want us all downstairs so they can tell us their announcement” Ben said as me and Teddy looked at each other and smiled, she must have said yes
“we will be right down” I called out as I heard the footsteps walk away
“I take it Kim said yes” Teddy said as he got up off my bed and I did the same
“guess so” I said with a smile as Teddy pulled me close to him
“I love you, so much” he said as he kissed my forehead and tightened his grip.
“not as much as I love you” I replied back as Teddy loosened his grip so he could look at me
“uh uh, not possible I love you more” he said starting the ‘no I love you me game’
“nah I love you more” I said as Teddy shock his head
“nope I love you more…..I love you times a hundred” he said
“well I love you times a thousand” I replied
“well I love you times a million” he replied back
“well…well I love you times..infinity” I replied as I stuck my tongue out showing that I had won
“well little miss smarty pants.. I love you times infinity…plus one” he taunted with a massive grin on his face
“hey you cant do that, no fair” I said as I made a pouty face
“aww im sorry” he said in a soppy voice as he leaned in and kissed me, as we heard Ben yelling for us to come downstairs.
“lets go” I said as we walked down stairs

“WERE ENGAGAED” Kim and Mat yelled in union as everyone sat their in shock except for me and Teddy, who were already up there hugging and kissing them congratulations
“wow…congratulations” Ben said as he hugged Mat, and everyone else seemed to follow.
“so…fill us in, how did it happen, who knew…”Kaitlyn asked as everyone took their seat around Mat and Kim like little kids ready for story time.
“well it all started when I got a mystery phone call from Mat” Kim started as all eyes were on her and everyone was listening intently. “Then we were just lying on the beach watching the sunset when he asked me” she finished as she looked over at Mat who had the biggest grin on his face and leant over and kissed her, as we all sat there awwing.
“this calls for a celebratory lunch” Daniel announced as everyone agreed “I shall make the reservations and organise everything, everyone just make sure your ready before…” he question
“before 2.00” Mat said as Daniel nodded and made his way into the kitchen to make the reservations and everyone else went off to do their own things…mine to pick an outfit
“so guess what you get to help me do” I said in a girly tone as me and Ted made our way up the stairs
“ive got a pretty good idea on what it is” he replied as he rolled his eyes
“oh well smarty pants what is it” I questioned with raised eyebrows
“helping you pick out your outfit” Teddy said in a duh type voice as I walked over to my closet and pulled a lot of random clothing out
“well technically I pick the outfits, you just give your opinion” I said as I grabbed pieces of clothing and held them up against myself as I looked in the mirror
“yea I play one of the most important parts” Teddy said as I turned around and threw a shirt at him
“that you do my dear, that you do” I said as I ran into the bathroom with my high waisted black skirt, white button up and black open vest.
“so its time to work your magic Teddy” I said as I walked out of the bathroom with my outfit on as he looked my up and down.
“or there is this one…:” I said as I went to walk over to get it but Teddy stopped me
“no you look beautiful in that, don’t try on anything else” he said as he smiled at me still looking me up and down, and made his way over to where I was
“so on a scale of 1 to 10???” I questioned as he wrapped his arms around me
“10” he said almost automatically. “but there is one thing I would change” he said as he reached down and did up one of the buttons on my shirt. “there, now I don’t have to worry about other guys checking you out” he replied as I started laughing.
“well its to bad I don’t have the same security as you” I said as we both laughed
“well any other girls…and guys for you, wont matter because we have each other and that’s all we need” Teddy said as he leaned in a softly kissed me.
“naw, that is so true” I said as I started to take off my vest and put it on my bed. “well I gunna go have a quick shower so I can wash my hair…will you still be here when I get out???” I questioned as I checked the bathroom for towels
“I should be” Teddy replied as I started to take me hair out of a very tangled bun
“well just in case you not…” I said as I grabbed onto his shirt and pulled him towards me laying a passionate one on him
“now I hope I will be here….the I get another one of those” he joked as we started laughing and I let go and started to make my way over to the bathroom.
“oh, can you do me a favour…..remember those shoes I bought at the shops the other week with you??” I questioned as Teddy shock his head that had a confused face on it “you know the ones I was going to wear yesterday, but didn’t” I said as nodded
“yea I remember them” he said as I hid behind the door so I could get undressed
“well can you try find them for me please…just to save me time” I said as I popped my head out and smiled and he smiled back
“of corse I will” he said as I blew him a kiss and closed the door
“love you” I called through the door as I hopped in the shower
“love you to” I heard him yell back
-Carry On-
“Cindy….Cindy” Teddy called as he knocked on the door, just as I got out of the shower
“yea…what’s the matter” I called back as I squeezed the water out of my hair.
“I have to go home now, coz mum and dad want to leave at 12 and I still need to get ready” he called as I heard him pick up his bag
“oh ….wait a sec” I called as I wrapped a towel around my body and opened the door
“hello” teddy said in a flirtatious tone as I rolled my eyes and pushed his chest. “sorry…but yea I really need to go” he said as he looked at his watch
“okay” I said with a saddened tone
“aww…I don’t want to leave” he said as he cuddled me, leaving his wet
“I know, but you have to go see Susie, you favourite cousin in the whole wide world” I said in a teasing tone and he grunted
“ahh don’t tease me, its going to be hell” he said still cuddling me
“im sorry….but if she is that bad, and that annoying you can always call me” I said
“yea, but I think ide run out of battery then” he jokingly said as we let go of each other
“I love you” Teddy said as he leaned in and kissed me
“I love you to” I replied doing the same thing
“goodbye Angle” he said as he kissed my forehead, which was wet from my dripping hair
“bye bubbi” I said as he kissed me one last time, then left the room to go back to his house.
I loved that Teddy Geiger. No matter how much he had me worried last night, I don’t think I could ever live without him
ok so its 1.20am at this point in time, and i had to get up at 4.30 this morning becuz u had 2 b at school at 5.20 for a trip to canberra which was the most boringest this ever. so im am so tired, but i wantd to finish and post this chapter for you guys....so Comments and/or critisim wuld be greatly appreciated
