i had this chapter finished like 2 nights ago and i totally forgot to post, which i apologise for the wait. I like this chapter more than my others, but thats just my opinion.
Chapter 28
-Carry On-
A took my time getting home. I knew that everyone would be there and I didn’t really feel like being in the middle of everyone’s Saturday morning rush. Quite surprisingly when I got home, no-one was there, so I thought ide take advantage of the fact, and blasted my music whilst I ran around the house in my underwear and singlet dancing like an idiot and singing the lyrics at the top of my lungs…..you know what you normally do when your home alone. After a while my throat started to hurt so I decided to put on my bikini and sit by the pool Marissa and Summer style. It was a really hot day, to hot to just be sitting by the pool so decided to go on in….something that I hadn’t done in a while.
I was in my own little world swimming around, when I saw two legs slowly edge into the pool. Obviously it was Teddy so I decided to swim across the bottom of my pool and grab onto his legs to scare him, which was a completely dumb idea considering that the water was clear and he would no doubt be able to see me, but I guess when your under water trying to scare someone, logic doesn’t really come to mind. I grabbed onto his legs and yanked myself up
“rah” I yelled as I faced him, with water splashing in every direction.
“ahh” he said with sarcasm as a smile came across his face and I gave him an evil stare “what?
” he asked as I was still giving him the stare
“you could of at least made that ahh a bit more believable” I said as I crossed my arms like a little kid who didn’t get their way, over the side of the pool.
“ohh im sorry” he said with a laugh “but as an apology I bought you this” he said as he pulled a slurpy out from behind his back “we went past the 7/11 and I made mum pull over so I could get us one, and of corse A.J and Rachel wanted one, so she really didn’t have a choice unless she wanted the silent treatment from them on the way home” he said with a cute smile on his face
“aw thanks bub” I said with a smile as I leaned up to kiss him “wait, let me just see something” I said as I was about an inch away from his face, as I drank some of the slurpy. “mmm cherry cola my favourite” I said as I leaned in and kissed him
“oh so you stopped just to make sure I got your favourite flavour” Ted said as we pulled away and I nodded with a laugh as he shock his head. “the things you do to me” he said with a laugh as I handed him my drink and got out of the pool.
-Carry On-
“so….I uh talked to Kris today” I said breaking away from our hour random conversation. We were now sitting by the pool on the pool chairs talking away.
“you did?” he questioned without surprise…..it was like he already knew I talked to him
“yea….I decided to take the scenic tour way home and I kinda saw a scene between his mum and dad, so I decided to see how he was and it continued from there” I said as I explained everything to Teddy, who sat their wide eyed.
“oh man….I feel like the biggest a-hole right now for the way ive treated him…..I mean yea he shouldn’t of done what he did, but we all though he did…well you know and oh man” Teddy said as he ran his hands through his hair.
“I know…that’s exactly how I feel….but I was really the one who caused it” I said as Ted grabbed my hands
“what….you didn’t start anything….don’t blame yourself for the actions of me and everyone else” Teddy said as he looked me in the eyes
“yea…..but if I didn’t tell people what had happened and got everyone on my side…he would never had been treated that way” I said as Ted shock his head
“you didn’t force people to take your side did you???…..we all chose to take your side….and we have to be responsible for our actions” Ted said as he let go of my hands and reached into his pocket pulling out his phone
“what are you doing???” I asked curiously
“calling Kris to apologise and see if he is ok” Ted said as he flipped his phone open as I grabbed onto his hand
“I don’t think that’s a good idea….when I left he just wanted to be alone, and his mum was on her way home so im sure he is pre-occupied at the moment” I said as Teddy understood and put his phone away
“man I still cant believe all this” Teddy said as he laid back in the chair
-Carry On-
“come on Teddy, we have to go” I yelled out up the stairs, as I checked my makeup and hair in the mirror once more.
“im coming, im coming” he said as he started walking down the stairs buttoning up the rest of his shirt. “you look beautiful by the way” Teddy said as he grabbed onto my hand and spun me round as my dress flowed around. I was wearing I white strapless dress that ended just below my knee with a chunky silver belt that was just under my chest.
“aw thanks babe…you don’t look to shabby yourself” I said as we heard a car horn- Danny’s mum was here to pick us up.
“lets go” he said as he grabbed onto my hand and lead me outside as I handed him the keys and he locked the door.
“well somebody looks hot today” Danny said as we entered the car and his brother Michael, who I hadn’t seen in over a year turned around and looked.
“aww thanks man” Teddy said as Danny leant over and punched Ted as I laugh and smiled, as I thanked Danny for the compliment
“well well well if it isn’t little Cindy….all grown up” Michael said with a smirk.
“omg I haven’t seen you in forever….how was college??” I asked as we all embarked in a conversation about what Michael had been doing over the past year.
“so you guys call me when you want to get picked up ok??” Michael asked as we all got out of the car carrying everything we bought along
“aight….cya bro” Danny said as we made our way inside Lilly’s house
-Carry On-
“CINDY” Lilly called down the stairs as I out the finishing touch on his cake
“YEA” I yelled back us as Kerry walked into the kitchen blocking her ears.
“what ever happened to talking” she sad as she shock her head with a laugh as I joined in and she went outside to set up all the lights outside for tonight
“CINDY CAN YOU COME UP HERE PLEASE” she yelled as I made my way up to her room
“what’s the matter??” I asked as I looked down at her floor to see dresses everywhere alongside make up and accessories
“can you please do that thing with my hair, where you pull it all up and poof it up and then curl the ends” she said whilst making hilarious hand actions that I just laughed at
“your lucky that you best friend is skilled when using a GHD” I said as we both laughed and I made my way over to her bed.
-Carry On-
“Cindy your phone is ringing” Teddy said as he pointed to my phone on the desk.
“thanks babe” I said as I walked past him and ran my hand down his arm as I answered my phone.
“Hello” I said as I started to walk outside
“Cindy??” they questioned
“Kris” I questioned back
“yea…I was just wondering if that offer was still on the table” he asked. He seemed upset and I could tell he just needed to hang out with people
“ yea….um im here now, but how about I come get you” I asked, I already knew what he was referring to which was the invitation to Mitch’s party
“yea that would be great” he said as I heard his spirit rise a bit
“ok well ill be there in about 15 minutes….um its formal dress…..and don’t worry about a present” I said as we ended the conversation.
“who was that???” Teddy asked as I walked back inside
“um Kris” I said as all eyes in the room were on me “um look im going to o get him…..Teddy could you please explain whilst im gone” I said as I grabbed my bag
“what go get him….Cinds he is not stepping one foot in my house…..not after everything that happened” Lilly said as I made my way to the door
“Lilly a lot has changed…..please listen to what Teddy has to say…… please….ill be back in 15 minutes” I said as I basically ran out of the door before Lilly could say or do anything.
-Carry On-
I knocked on his door waiting for a response….hopefully from him, I don’t think I could stand seeing his mum upset at the moment.
“hey” Kris said as he opened the door and grabbed his backpack.
“hey” I replied back as he closed the door in a hurry
“um can we kinda go quickly, I don’t think I can see my mum upset anymore” he said as he started walking with pace down his path with me in toe
“yea sure” I said.
“so…..has anything changed since I talked to you this morning?” I questioned in reference to his parents
“no…my dad has tried ringing, but I told him to go shove it…..and my mum has gotten worse, luckily my aunty has come to stay with us a couple of nights” he said as we walked up the street in destination of Lilly’s house
“oh…well you know im here for you right?” I said as he looked me in the eye
“ thankyou…… it feels great to know that” he said as I smiled and we walked in silence for a bit, until he spoke again
“so ahh….are you sure everyone is ok with me coming today….I mean I don’t want to put anyone out” he said sounding a bit nervous
“yes everyone is fine….I got Teddy to explain to them all whilst I came and got you…and no your not putting anyone out” I said as he smiled and looked a head
“that makes me feel better then” he said as we were about half way there.
-Carry On-
We reached Lilly’s house and I was about to open the door. I was a bit anxious about doing so because I didn’t know how everyone reacted to Teds explanation, and was a tad worried that people wouldn’t except what he had said.
“im back” I yelled as I walked through the door with Kris in toe as I saw all eyes on us. Teddy came over to us
“hey babe…..hey Kris” he said as he extended his hand as Kris shook it “look man I want to apologise for the way ive been acting….I should of got my facts straight before we all just made assumptions and believed the lies of other” Teddy said as he was interrupted by Kris
“Teddy man don worry about it” he said as a look of relief came across Teds face.
“thanks….but I still want you to know I feel really low for treating you that way” Teddy added on as the rest of the clan came over
“don’t….if I were in you situation I would of done the same” Kris said as the others began to apologise, which made me feel a tone better because I had felt horrible for the way we had treated him, and I knew he felt much happier and accepted at this point, which was fantastic because at this stage he just needed his old friends back to help him get through this time.
‘well now that we have all got that soughed….lets get the rest of whatever needs doing, done” I said as I looked around to see that mostly everything was done
“there’s nothing left to do but wait for everyone to arrive” Lilly said as the door bell rang and a couple of people have arrived.
-Carry On-
Mostly everyone had turned up now, and we were trying to get everyone in place so we could surprise Mitch when he came through the dor. A lot of the people were still giving Kris the death stares, but to shut them up I grabbed onto his hand and walked him around with me.
“ahh what is he doing here” I heard a group of girls say as I walked past. I wasn’t really that good a friends with them considering they weren’t part of either group I was in….they were kinda those random bunch of kids who had nothing in common at all, but all came together because they didn’t fit in anywhere else.
“ahh….its about time you girls and everyone else got your facts straight before you continue to persecute Kris” I said getting a little annoyed as I walked to the front of the room, grabbed a glass and sthingy and tapped them together to get everyone’s attention.
“thanks everybody” I said as I got all eyes on me “ok firstly ide just like to say thanks for coming earlier and co-operating with the surprise , it makes it a lot easier for us and I know Mitch will love it” I started as I was cut off
“of corse we would come….its for Mitchy” Ben, one of the guys in the bigger group our group was apart of yelled out as everyone laughed. He was the only one who called him Mitchy, which was kinda cute and funny- I guess you just need to know what type of person Ben is to find it funny.
“well apart from that I would also just like to say one other thing…a lot of you have noticed that Kris is here today…and ive noticed that a lot of you are still being quite rude to him. Now I no it was only yesterday that I was acting the same way as you, but a lot has changed since then. I heard the full story and its not what I and the rest of you thought. So I would really appreciate if everyone would just give Kris a chance, because in actual fact he hasn’t done anything badly wrong. Ive forgiven him and its all water under the bridge, and I would appreciated it greatly if you would all just give him second chance” I said as everyone was looking backwards and forth between me and Kris, who had turned pink and was looking down at the ground. I walked off after my little speech towards the kitchen passing Kris on the way.
“sorry if that embarrassed you” I whispered as I walked past him and noticed that Greg was making his way over to Kris.
“there you are” Teddy said as he came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waste.
“here I am” I said as I turned around and kissed him as he laughed in between the kisses.
“so I wanna show you something” he said as he grabbed onto my hand and took me outside
“what is it” I asked as Ted closed the sliding door and we walked towards the pool area.
“well since me and Danny have know Mitch longer then everyone else, we decided to get him another present” Teddy said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a long jewellery box. He opened it up to reveal a dog tag that had a picture of his grandfather on it and engraving on the other side. You see Mitch was exceptionally close with his grandfather and about 9 months ago he died. In his will Mitch was left with all his army things like his badges and what not from the war. One of the things he got, which he had never taken off was a dog tag, which his grandfather wore the whole time throughout the war, that showed his number (3347) which was his identification name, because they didn’t use their names on the dog tags, as well as the date he entered and finished war. The dog tag that Teddy had in his hand matched the dog tag he already had perfectly
“oh my” I said as I took the box and looked at it closer “Mitch is going to absolutely love this” I said as I handed it back to Teddy
“yea that’s what we are hoping” Teddy said with a smile and Danny opened the door and ran out to us to tell us Mitch was hear.
“lets go scare the absolute crap out of him” Teddy said as we ran inside into out places
-Carry On-
“SURPRISE” everyone yelled as we all popped out party poppers and threw streamers at him. He was absolutely shocked and im glad someone got video footage of him coming into the house, because the look on his face was priceless
“what the…how…..when…why….” Mitch said as we all laughed and someone started singing happy birthday as we all joined in
“wow……this is ah just out of this world….never in a million years would I have ever expected this” he said still in shock as he made his way into the centre of the room
“who’s idea was this” he asked curiously as everyone pointed to Lilly who turned pink
“well it wasn’t just me” she proclaimed as Mitch wrapped both his arms around her and kissed her to which everyone replied “aaawww”
“so lets get this party started” Danny yelled as he turned on the music and Teddy turned on the strobe lights we had set up.
-Carry On-
“not all the embarrassing moments are over yet” Teddy called out. Mitch had just opened all his present, and some where a bit ahh…embarrassing and hilariously funny to say the least
“what…what else have you guys set up” Mitch asked as Danny pressed play on the dvd player and began playing the presentation we had made, with the first video footage was him in the bath completely naked at the age of 2. Oh the laughs.
“you guys are terrible” Mitch said whilst laughing as more pics were flashed on the screen
“and that’s all folks” Danny said as the presentation ended and he and Teddy were making their way over to Mitch
“so there is one last present left from me and Teddy” Danny said as Teddy pulled the box out of his pocket and handed it to Mitch. As he opened it you could see the gratefulness on his face. He pulled it out as you could see small tears form in his eyes, as he put it around his neck and got up.
“thanks man” he said with a small quiver as he hugged Teddy and Danny as everyone just stood their watching saying ‘aww’
-Carry On-
“well that went better than expected” Teddy said as he pulled me closer to him. It was now quite late at night and we had just gotten back to my place and were sitting out by the pool. No-one was going to be home for the night, so Teddy was going to stay the night to keep me safe- I don’t like being home alone of a night.
“yea it did…. But im glad its over, it was starting to get unbearable keeping it a secret form him” I said as Teddy nodded
“oh I know there were so many times that I nearly slipped up” Ted aid as I agreed as my phone message tine went off. I reached over ands read it along with Ted. It was from Kris and read ‘thankyou for all you have done today, I really appreciate it and im glad to know we have soughed things out’
“that was nice of him” Teddy said as I got up
“yea it was” I replied as I started to make my way over to the pool
“where are you going” Teddy asked as I sat down and put my legs in the pool
“come join me” I said as Teddy came over, rolled up his jeans and joined me. We just sat there for over an hour talking about today and a lot of other things
“well its starting to get late, I think we should call it a night” Teddy said as he stood up and held his hands out in which I grabbed as he helped me get up. I leaned in as he wrapped both arms around me and hugged me tight just as a slight nice breeze came
“I love you” he stated as he let go of me with one hand, tilted my chin up and kissed me
“I love you to” I said in between kisses as Teddy put his arm around me again as I started to loose my balance and I leaned forward a little to much causing Teddy to loose his balance as well and leaving both of us falling into the pool.
“cold cold cold” Teddy yelled as he started to swim to the edge. I was in front of him so I ducked down in the water and grabbed onto the sides of his face and kissed him. Now kissing underwater has got to be one of the stupidest things ive ever thought of doing…talk about choking on water. We both resurface coughing and getting water out of our mouths
“not…one….of the ….brightest ideas…ive come up….with” I said in between coughs as Teddy nodded and came over to me
“no..but I had always…..wanted to do that so….now I h…have” he said in between coughs as he grabbed onto my hands and we made our way out of the pool and grabbed towels from the cupboard outside.
“lets go have a shower” I said as Teddy nodded and we dried ourselves as best we could and ran upstairs to have a shower.
-Carry On-
“im am so tired” I said as I lazily made my way over to me bed and got under the covers as I heard the front door open
“ANYONE HOME” I heard Daniel yell as he turned on the lights downstairs. What was he doing here? He didn’t live here
“YEA ME AND TEDDY” I yelled back as I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and Teddy emerged from the bathroom.
“hey…what are you guys doing” he asked as he walked into my room
“hey” Teddy said
“nothing much….wait what are you doing here?” I questioned as he sat down at my computer chair.
“I was driving by and saw that all the lights were off and no-one was answering their phones so I got a bit worried” he said as the home phone rang
“ill get it” he said as he leant over and answered it.
“wrong number” he said as he turned back to me
“so what were you doing in the area anyways” I asked
“school reunion remember, I told you that last week” he said as if I would have remembered “and I decided to take the shortcut home so here I am” he said as he pager went off.
“oh me see me see” I said as he was reading his pager “oh are you still coming over tomorrow??” I questioned
“yup of corse…I think we are going out for lunch tho…I don’t know but ill be here, but right now I need to get home, the kids aren’t going to bed” he said as I laughed
“ok then, give them all a big kiss for me, and ill see you tomorrow” I said as Daniel put the chair back
“of corse…oh and we will probably be late so tell the others” he said as he leaned down and kissed my forehead and shock Teddy’s hand
“goodnight” I said
“night” Daniel said as he made his way out of my room and back to his car
“what are you doing tomorrow?” I asked Teddy as he pulled the sheets over his body
“ahh d**n I have to go to Aunty Betty’s house” he said as he hit his forehead with his hand. You see Teddy had a very annoying cousin who would not stop talking and nagging. She was our age, but had the maturity and mind of a 5 year old
“haha have fun” I teased as he gave me a evil stare which I totally laughed at
“whatever…I will have fun” he said as he stuck his tongue out and laughed
“oh Teddy, what am I ever going to do with you” I said with a laugh
“well at the moment you are going to fall asleep with me coz im unbelievably tired” he said as he pulled me in closer to him and turned the lamp off that was on top of my nightstand.
“sounds like a good idea” I said as I leaned up and kissed Teddy and fell asleep in his arms.
So i hope you girlies enjoy the new chapter, and im sorry again for the wait. Im off to try get tickets for the final of Idol...Matt Corby= Australian Idol of 07
