aw! Good old Ted! Gotta love him...and this is why your writing is so addicting. All these little twists and turns....ah! it's madness! But I'm addicted...goodness...lol
Alyssa, what can I say? you're insane. I read what you wrote and bust up laughing because this picture emerged in my head of a shoe flying through the hair and hitting Ted square between the eyes in the middle of Love is a Marathon. I mean, seriously, how hard would you laugh? it's sad, but hilarious. I think I would throw a sandal, it's lighter and wouldn't cause as much damage...or maybe a slipper....and now I'm just writing more so I can stall on doing my homework...
Can't wait for more!

Alyssa hits Teddy with a shoe, and the only explanation is because they're eloped. So great... Love it!! hahahaha I'm working on more! well at least its a better excuse than being like "oh well, ughh im such a HUGE fan, and i just really wanted to see if you were bionic teddy!!!1234!!one!!" *narfs from the excitment of teddy's flesh touching the tip of my shoe* OMFGGGGG (pronounced omfg. not oh my freakin gosh) he totally kissed her. if thats the same as cheating, my shoe wont be hitting his face, it'll be up his ass. but you should totally post more because its really good. ;D insane: considered legally incompetent or irresponsible because of a psychiatric disorder. thats me!

And everything was ok. We still had problems in the baby making department, but we were well on our way to adopting a little boy that would be born at the end of May. His mother was a teenager who wanted to remain completely anonymous because she had been a runaway. Her Mother was abusive and if she had ever known about her baby, it would only make things worse.
Originally, I had wanted to keep things very private too, but I also wanted to know a little about this girl. I mean, was she healthy? Did she have any mental illnesses in her family? I felt like some of these things should be answered so that I know when the baby arrived.
He was beautiful. His tiny little hands were chubby, just like his short little legs, and his ears were so tiny, but they stuck out just enough to be cute.
We had decided on Matthew Reid well before we had ever seen him (we were anxious little things). We left a message with the adoption agency that if the Mother ever did want to see him, she could, but I doubted that would happen. I suspected she would either return home and never mention it, or run to another state so no one could find her.
"He's beautiful," I said as we sat in the hospital the day after he was born with all our friends, Jon's family, and my Mom.
"That he is," Jon said and held his long arms out for him. He had been particularly excited, only because he loved his neice Kara to death (she would stay with us occasionally).
"I'm really proud of you," my Mom told me. "I would've been to proud to adopt, but I really am proud of you."
We all laughed as little Matthew was passed around our group, and each time I followed him, just in case. Teddy was the last one to hold him, and the two of them instantly connected in a weird sort of way. Ted would say something, and Matthew would watch his lips like he could undertand all of it.
"Come on baby," I cooed as I took him from Teddy's arms. "Let's go see your new room!"
----------
The next few months were crazy. Teddy and Alyssa had their first baby, a boy named Corey Lyric, who looked just like Teddy. Even with the baby, the two of them were the most random, crazy people; Just like they always had been.
I finally felt secure in my life. I knew what I wanted, and I had everything I had wanted. I was no longer that silly, insecure, quiet, self-concious teenage girl I was in high school. There were no labels for anyone anymore. Everyone was who they were, with their own quirky traits that we all sat around and laughed about late into the nights we would spend with each other.
We were like the show Friends, minus the coffee shop. We were close, and it was beautiful how things worked out, even if I didn't get the guy I loved in high school. Not all stories can have that perfect, cinderella, cookie-cutter ending, you know.
