Today was not my day. First, I woke up with five minutes to get ready before I had to rush to class. (said "rush" also caused me to get pulled over by a female cop who was apparently suffering from pms) Then, I was late by ten minutes, causing me to not get credit for being there that day, despite the fact that the teacher was Jon. (i didn't speak to him on the way out)

After I left that class, I headed to the library to study, but decided on buying a bag of chips (baked lays, like always), but instead I got a bag of Cheetos, that were most likely a month old.

"Hey, are you ok?" Jon whispered as he found me later in the library.

I looked at him and nodded. "I'm fine."

"Ok, so why are you wearing your t-shirt inside out?"

I groaned and laid my head down on the table in front of me. "I just want to go back to bed."

"You can't go back to bed. It's Valentine's Day." He said as he rubbed my back. I was surprised no one was noticing, since he was my teacher.

"Valentine's Day has never been a good day for me."

"Well, today it will be. After your class, go home a take a long hot bath, and then be at my apartment at... Seven?"

I smiled shyly at him. "Ok. I'll see you then."

I wasn't sure what to wear, but since it was a holiday, I thought nice clothes would be decent attire. I decided on a black and white polka-dotted skirt and a solid black top. It was fancy enough for me.

I was early. Being early was just a habit of mine, and if I wasn't --like today at school -- my whole day was off. Just how early was I? I wasn't exactly sure, but it had to be at least twenty minutes.

I almost didn't want to knock on the door because I was so early. I felt I would seem anxious or rude if I did so. But, being inside in the warm atmosphere would be much better than standing out in the cold breezeway of his apartment building.

"Hey, you're here!" He said excitedly as he grabbed my hand and pulled me inside. "You look really nice."

"Thanks, so do you," I said as I looked at his outfit. He was wearing dark jeans and a light blue button up shirt, that I was sure was practically brand new.

"Thanks. I um, I'm not that great at cooking, and believe me, I tried." He let out a laugh. "So um... I had to order out. I hope you like Chinese."

I smiled. "I love Chinese."

He smiled as he walked to the kitchen and pulled out a couple plates and then walked to the living room, where he had the boxes of food set out on his coffee table, with two, thick, round vanilla candles burning at each end.

"I didn't expect any of this," I said. "You didn't have to..."

"I wanted to. I wanted to spend tonight with you," he said genuinely and I smiled as we sat down in the floor across from each other to eat our dinner.

"Are you not going to answer that?" he asked as my phone began to ring once again.

I shook my head. "Nope."

"You're not even going to see who it is?"

"Nope." I smiled at him.

"How come?"

"Because it's probably Teddy, and he's probably going to tell me something completely useless." I informed him as I took a sip of my water.

"Well, answer it. I want to know what's so important that he has to call repeatedly until he get ahold of you."

I groaned. "But I don't want to."

"Then I will," he said and flipped open my phone. "Hello? Yeah, hold on." He handed the phone to me.

I stuck my tongue out at him. "What it is now?"

"What are you doing? Who was that? Was it that professor guy?" Teddy asked enthusiastically and I knew he and Alyssa had probably ate a box of candy within the last hour.

"I'm eating dinner with my fiance. Now if you don't mind, I'm hanging up and turning my phone off." I said.

"You're engaged!"

"Yes Teddy. I am engaged. Now if you don't have any more remarks about my life, I'm hanging up." I said as I slammed my phone shut, but then re-opened it to turn it off.

Jon raised his eyebrows as he took my plate and placed it in the sink. "Everything ok?"

"I'm just tired of Ted thinking he knows me."

"Well, you are friends with the guy," he pointed out as he let out a chuckle.

"Yeah, but still, it's annoying." I said as I yawned. "Anyway! I had a really great time tonight. No one's ever made, er--attempted to make dinner for me. It was really sweet."

"Where are you going?"

"Well, it's kind of late..." I gestured to the clock.

"Well, who says you have to go home? You could stay here."

I nodded. "Ok."

"I can't believe you guys are getting married so soon," Tallie stated. "I mean, three months to plan a wedding? That's not a lot of time."

I nodded. "I know, but, its what we want to do."

"So what about that dress?"

I shook my head. "Too prom-ish."

She held up another and I shrugged, which meant I was trying it on whether I liked it or not.

"Come on, you have to find a dress today or you'll be walking down the isle in a pair of cut-offs and a halter-top," Tallie joked and I rolled my eyes. "Ok, so maybe it won't be that bad, but still, it won't be a wedding without a dress."

I sighed as I walked out in yet another dress, but this time, I liked this one.

She let out a squeal as she clapped her hands and jumped up and down. "That's so awesome!"

"Finally!" I sighed as I changed out of it and we headed home with the solid white, halter top dress hanging up in the back seat.

It was four in the morning and rapid knocks on my door were not the best way to wake up. I threw it open without even looking through the peep hole.

"We're here!" Teddy and Alyssa said excitedly at the exact same time and I groaned as I walked back to my bedroom with the door standing wide open.

"Bailey!" Teddy called as they came in and shut the door behind them. I buried myself under the covers to hide, and I groaned as I noticed that Jon was still sound asleep. He had stayed the night after watching a couple movies at my apartment the night before. I could hear running footsteps heading my way, but it didn't register until two bodies landed hard on top of mine.

"Oh my gosh!" I yelled as I practically freaked out on everyone in the room, including Jon, who was now wide awake. "Is this completely necessary?! I'm trying to sleep! Can't you guys just leave me alone?! I want to sleep!"

I flopped down on the bed dramatically as I heard Alyssa start to giggle, and I hoped they'd trip on the way to their room.

"Hey," Jon said. "What was that? They were just goofing off."

I nodded. "I know. I'm just really tired with planning and everything. I mean, the wedding is in two days."

He nodded and tucked my hair behind my ears. "Get some sleep." He kissed my forehead before returning to his position under the covers.

I had almost hoped that Teddy wouldn't show up for this. I mean, he was my friend, and Alyssa was my friend, but I had always sensed that he was jealous. I knew he didn't want me to get married to anyone. Ever.

But he would just have to get over that.
