Later that night, after the quickest shower of her life, she was searching for something to wear that looked relaxed, but not sloppy. She didn't want Amie or Teddy to think she was a slob; although Teddy already knew her minor slob capabilities.
The doorbell rang just as she threw on a hot pink short-sleeved shirt and she ran to get it. Teddy was there with his guitar strapped over his shoulder, as well as Amie and her brother Chase. Becca decided it would only be polite to invite him as well since she had just met him.
"Awesome color on you, Beck!" Amie said as she came in and they all made their way from the foyer to the living room.
"I ordered some pizza, a cheese and a pepperoni, so it should be here any minute," she informed them and they all nodded.
"Oh! How did those tryouts go? Amie was telling me about them on the way here," Chase spoke up. It was one of the only things he had ever said around her.
"Good!" She smiled. "I made the team."
Teddy already knew, and he smiled from his seat on the couch, while Amie and Chase congratulated her.
"So what movies did you get?" Teddy asked.
"Oh um, actually we pretty much have our own library here, so I thought we could just pick from that."
Everyone got to their feet and made their way to the entertainment center, where all their dvds were kept.
Finally, the pizza had arrived and they had all settled for watching 'Waiting'.
Becca noticed that Amie waited to sit down until Teddy was seated, and then proceeded to sit next to him.
"Hey Ted, why don't you try to teach me how to play the guitar?" Becca suggested, feeling that she needed to speak up and get his attention.
"Um.. Uh. OK. Tomorrow?"
She smiled and nodded. "Sounds good."
"Can we start the movie?" Chase said from his spot on the floor, and after starting the movie, Becca joined him.
She heard Amie giggle about something from behind her and silently groaned to herself. It was going to be a long movie.

They were all laughing hysterically as they lay in the floor eating m&ms. For the past hour they had been laughing about the senior Chemistry teacher, Mr. Roberts.
"What's up with his hair? Is he going for the Albert Einstein look, or did he really electrocute himself?" Chase was laughing as he spoke. She noticed his perfectly straight teeth, and beautiful smile.
"I think he wakes up and just goes. He probably sleeps in his clothes too." Teddy was laughing now, and he also had a beautiful smile, she noticed. "Because they're always wrinkled. Even his tie!"
Amie was eyeing him as he spoke like it was the last words she would ever hear, and it made Becca a little jealous. She felt like she needed to do something, or say something to get his attention so he wouldn't even have a minute to think about her that way.
But instead of making a fool of herself, she excused herself. "I'm going to get me something to drink. Anyone else need anything?"
They all shook their heads as she stood and exited the room.
She grabbed a soda and then hoisted herself onto the counter and rested her head against the cabinets. It was the first time out of the whole week that she had actually had time to feel tired.
"You ok?"
She removed her eyes from the ceiling, which was growing more and more interesting by the second, and she realized Chase had been in there with her.
"Huh? Oh yeah." She smiled. "I'm just really, really... really tired."
"Yeah. I know what you mean." He said as Maggie came prancing through the kitchen looking for food. "I mean football absolutely drains me, ya know? I hardly have time to do homework, let alone watch tv or shower or eat, even."
They both let out small chuckles as she filled Maggie's food and water bowls.
"Story of the Dillon Panthers." She mumbled to herself and handed him a bottle of water, which he accepted, and then they made their way to the living room.
Teddy was teaching Amie to play the guitar. The back of her neck started to feel hot, and it took everything she had not to throw a fit in the middle of the floor. He was supposed to be teaching her, not Amie. Amie wasn't supposed to move in like this.
"Oh my gosh." Amie chuckled as her fingers fumbled over the strings.
She tried to busy herself with a game of 'Go Fish' with Chase, but no matter what she did, she couldn't tune out what was going on with Teddy and Amie.
She was so jealous, and she hated it. She didn't want to have to be jealous, and the more she thought about it, the more she realized she really had no right to be. She had lied to her and said that she wasn't sure if Teddy was
exactly her type.
"We should probably get going," Chase informed Amie, who sort of pouted a little. He turned to Becca. "We've got grandparents coming over this week and we have to clean and all that lovely stuff."
Teddy and Becca walked them out to the driveway.
"Thanks for inviting us, Becca," Amie gave her a hug. "I had fun."
"Me too," she forced herself to smile as she said goodbye.
"I had fun," Chase smiled as he gave her a small hug as well. She was sort of surprised by this, but chose to ignore it. "Bye."
They watched the two siblings back out of the driveway before going back into the house.
"So um.. That really is a good color on you," Teddy complimented her as he began putting his guitar back in its case.
She smiled and felt her cheeks growing warm. "Thanks."
"No problemo," he said and giggled."And just so you know, you totally have a secret admirer." He winked.
"What?"
"Chase." He laughed. "Of course it's not a secret now that I've told you."
"Whatever." She laughed at him for even thinking Chase was interested in her. "Besides, I'm not interested."
"Weeellll," he said as he slung his guitar over his shoulder. "That's good. Because he seems like a player."
"What?" She laughed at him again.
He raised his hands in defense. "I'm just sayin'." He laughed. "But I thought you were over the whole football player type."
She shrugged. "I said I wasn't interested."
"I know. But again, I'm just sayin'." He giggled again and she rolled her eyes as she laughed at him. "I'll see you tomorrow. Around eleven?"
She nodded and smiled before giving him a hug that lasted a little longer than a hug between "friends".
"See you tomorrow," she said softly as she watched him walk away.
She was sure she would barely get any sleep from thinking over the night's events.
She realized that she truly wanted Amie as a close friend, but first she needed to get past the jealousy she felt every time Amie even looked at Teddy.
While Amie had clearly had her feelings for him written all over her face, Becca felt she really needed to talk to her about them. Maybe that would fix things.
