ok so i finally finished. sorry for keeping you guys waiting, but i liked this chapter and i hope you guys do as well.
CHAPTER 21
-Carry On-
So what’s my diagnosis?
Well according to my doctor I have a bad case of the flu, which seems to be going around lately. One weeks bed rest, no school, and these terrible tablets that I have to take twice a day were his orders- and everyone especially Teddy was making sure I was sticking to them. But your probably thinking that 1 week’s bed rest and no school is to die for, but it ain’t all its cracked up to be. I never realised how crap daytime tv was. Its just bombarded with crappy over exaggerated soap operas or talk shows that had no relation to my life at all, so I resorted to watching all 4 seasons of both One Tree Hill and O.C which Teddy had bought for me to keep me sane.
I rolled over in bed after watching 12 hours of one tree hill STRAIGHT and stared at my phone. I wondered what time it was- I didn’t have a clock to look at anymore considering I broke it on Monday when I threw it across my room. I reached for my phone, but was off by about 10 cm which frustrated me because I had just gotten comfy and I didn’t want to move. I tried to stretch further but everyone knows that no matter how hard you try your not going to get it unless your arm magically extends for a couple of seconds so you can grab what you want.
“eh” I whined as I still tried to reach for my phone- with no luck.
“that’s pathetic” I heard a familiar voice say as I looked over at the door to see Teddy standing there with a grin plastered across his face and one hand held behind his back.
“hey” I said in a chirpy voice as I stopped reaching for my phone and sat up in my bed.
“so hows my little patient today?” he questioned as he made his way over to me, with one hand still behind his back which had me curious but I let it go.
“im excellent………..I feel a ton better than the yesterday” I said as he sat in my bed.
“well that’s good to hear” he said as he leaned over and kissed my forehead. “ow and I bought you this as well” he added on as he pulled his hand from behind his back to reveal a frangipanni. Frangipanni’s have been my favourite flower since I can remember, and Teddy would always bring me one when I was either sick or upset, or as a way if apologising if he had done something to me
“aww thankyou, I was wondering when you were going to bring me one” I said with a laugh as he laid down on my bed so his head was on my stomach and I kissed his cheek.
“well I was going to bring you one on Monday, but it wasn’t ready to be picked, but I went past it today and it was, so I thought ide finally bring you one to make you feel better” he said as I put it on my night stand.
“well thankyou I feel even better” I said as I leaned across and kissed him square on his lips and he kissed back.
“so what time is Rachel’s appointment?” I questioned as he started to play with my fingers.
“in about half an hour, which means I cant stay here for to long”. Teddy was going to go along to the appointment because Rachel was scared and there was this special relationship between Ted and Rachel, where Teddy was always able to calm her down. It must be a special relationship between the oldest brother and the youngest sister because it was the same for me and Daniel, he was always the one who could always calm me down, and I never felt afraid around him.
“ow well that’s cool, this is more important then staying here” I said as he started laughing.
“what’s so funny” I asked as he kept giggling
“have you ever listened to your stomach before” he questioned and kept giggling as I had a confused look on my face which made him laugh even more.
“cant say I have” I said as I to started to laugh as well due to Teddy laughing. He was in a fit of giggles
“you should…….. its hilarious………..it gurgles and makes hilarious sounds” he added in between laughs as I was now laughing as hard as he was, because it was funny to watch him laugh
“oh Teddy, Teddy, Teddy, what am I going to do with you” I said as I reached down and kissed him which lasted longer than I had thought. We continued on until his phone rang- it was his mom asking him to come home so they could go to the appointment.
“well I got to go” Ted said closing his phone and putting it back in his pocket.
“promise to call me tonight and tell me how it all goes”
“of corse ill call, ill even come back over to make sure your still ok”
“don’t worry about coming back, just stay at home with your family- im sure Rachel will want you to be around”
“well if Rachel doesn’t need me ill come back over, does that sound cool?”
“of corse………..you better get going”
“yea your right…………bye beautiful” he said as he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my lips
“bye babe” I replied back as he started to walk away and our hands broke free. He reached the door where he stopped and turned around and blew me a kiss. I laughed and caught it and put it over my heart and blew him a kiss as he caught it and put it over his heart and laughed.
“ill talk to you later tonight” he chuckled as he walked off
-Carry On-
I looked out over at my window, it was such a beautiful night outside and I was sick of being in bed most of the time. I got up out of bed and made my way downstairs to where everyone else was. Greeting me at the bottom of the stairs was Hector in his all in one bonds suit. He looked so cute in those things, with his curly hair and dimples, he was just to cute.
“hello bubba” I said in a childish voice as I picked him up and nuzzled my nose into his tummy as he laughed his cute little baby laugh. I looked around the room to see Ben lying asleep on the lounge, Kim and Mat sitting on the ground doing a puzzle and Caitlyn folding up clothes on the table. I walked over to Kailtlyn with Hector in my arms.
“oh Cindy, your looking a whole lot better, do you feel any better?” she questioned. She was like my mum, and reminded me so much of her. She was always there for me like a mum and would always care for me like a mum as well.
“yea I feel so much better thanks……..im actually thinking about going back to school tomorrow” I said as she dropped the shirt she was folding and looked at me
“sorry you may have to repeat that I don’t think I heard you properly, did you just say you wanted to go back to school tomorrow, because im sure that’s what you said” she said in a sarcastic yet funny tone
“oh haha” I replied back. You see I wasn’t all to fond of school at times, and I always complained to her about it
“well the doctor did say to take the week off, maybe you should just take the last to days off then go back next week” she said as she folded the last piece of clothing that needed folding.
“yea but I feel fine, and I want to go back to school, I mean anything is better then sitting her bored out of my brains all day” I said as I started to tickle Hector who was now sitting on the table playing with my necklace that Teddy bought me.
“well we will see and decide in the morning” she said as I agreed
“ok……..well im gunna go sit outside and look at the starts considering it is a beautiful night and its not cold” I said as I picked up Hector “im taking Hector out with me as well………ill get him to sleep for you” I added on as she gave me a thanking nod and went back to putting the clothes in peoples rooms.
-Carry On-
I was now sitting outside on the pool chairs looking up at the stars. I had Hector sitting in between my legs, he was playing with his toys as I way playing with his mop of curly hair. I ran my hand through his hair as it slipped out and ran along my necklace. I reached down and opened the locket, as Hector starting his cute baby mumbling. It made me think of my parents and how much they would of loved Hector, and how they never got the chance to see him. They died 1 month before he was born. I closed my locket and looked up at the stars and noticed these two that were standing out. They were noticeably bigger and brighter than the rest, this got me thinking. Daniel always told me that mum and dad were always up above watching down on us, and if we ever needed them or missed them, just look up at the sky and they would be there. It made me smile as I knew mum and dad were looking down on us. Hector stopped playing with his toys and just leaned back on me and looked up at the sky, as Kaitlyn came up to us with a bottle and towel.
“is he getting tired yet?” she asked as she handed me the bottle and towel.
“yea……but this will make him go to sleep” I said shaking the bottle, as she laughed
“well if you need anything just call me” she said as I nodded and she made her way back inside.
“come on bubba, its time for your bottle” I said as I picked him up and laid him in my arms as I gave him his bottle. He started rubbing his ear which meant he was going to fall asleep soon. I looked up at the sky as the two stars started to fade. I looked down at Hector who had now finished his bottle and was asleep. I put him over my shoulder and got up, grabbing his toys and made my way back inside. I reached the door, but stopped and looked up at the sky.
“goodnight” I said looking up at the sky and walking back inside.
-Carry On-
I was now sitting on the floor of the lounge room with Kim and Mat trying to figure out which puzzle piece fitted into each other. It was a d**n hard puzzle and had all of us challenged. I finally found the piece I was looking for as the home phone rang. I reached over to the table where the phone and picked it up and looked at it. Caller I.D said ‘Teddy Home’. I quickly got up and made my way to the front door as I answered it.
“Hey Ted” I said as I opened the front door and closed it behind me
“hello” he said in his mock British accent which made me laugh
“so how did it go, what did the doctor say?’ I asked as I sat down on the swingy chair that we had on our front porch.
“well the doctor said that she would definitely have to receive chemo” he said
“for how long”
“he said she needs to have 12 doses which adds up to about 9 months because she will have one dose every 3 weeks”
“oh why every three weeks” I asked
“because they have to give her body time to let the chemo work and let her have time to recover so she wont be sick the whole time she has chemo” he replied
“oh that’s makes sense…………so is everyone ok…….are you ok with all this?” I questioned as I laid down on the swing
“well it’s the only thing that is going to make her better, so the doctor explain a few things, and we are all ok with it now” he replied honestly which was a relief because he wasn’t upset or anything.
We talked for the next hour and a half, but we were starting to get tired considering it was now 11.00, and I was sure that some one would be out to tell me to get off the phone soon.
“well my mum just gave me the look” Teddy said as I started to make my way inside. The look meant that she wanted Teddy to get off the phone and go to bed.
“oh ok…….well im sure once I walk back inside ill get the look as well” I said as he chuckled
“well I guess ill talk to you tomorrow” he said as I heard his mum telling him to get off the phone in the background.
“you will see me tomorrow…..im coming back to school tomorrow” I said as I closed the front door, and as on cue got ‘the look’ off Ben.
“what, the doctor said to have a week off, Cindy you know better than to go against doctors orders”
“pft im fine and im starting to miss everyone…..and plus I was starting to get bored here at home so why not go back to school” I said as I heard him sigh
“well I guess there’s no way of talking you out of this considering you have already made up your mind”
“yup its made up and it aint changing” I said as he chuckled.
“alright then, Ill see you tomorrow……good night ‘My Angel’” he said
“good night ‘Care Bear’” I replied back
“love you”
“love you too”
“alright good night, don’t let the bed bugs bite- and if they do call me ill sought them out” he said jokingly as I laughed
“night Teddy” I said as we both hung up and I put the phone on the hook
“goodnight everyone” I called as I kissed everyone good night and made my way up stairs to bed, where I would get a good night’s rest, ready for whatever tomorrow would bring.
