Chapter 10
The movie was about halfway finished and out of nowhere Teddy’s cell phone began to ring. After looking at the caller ID on his phone he told me that he needed to take this call. It must have been very important.
“I’ll be right back,” Teddy said as he grabbed his phone and walked out of the living room and into my bedroom.
“Okay,” I said.
-In Love with a Memory-
-Teddy’s POV-
“Hello,” I answered as I sat on Kourtni’s bed, knowing that this probably wasn’t going to be a good phone call.
“Hey Ted…I have some great news for you!” my mom said on her end of the phone.
“Okay, what news would that be mom?”
“You know that movie role you auditioned for a while back?”
“Yeah, I remember it. What about it?”
“Well, you got the part! They want you to fly to Toronto as soon as possible to start filming.”
“Seriously? That is awesome. I’m glad I got it, but do I really have to leave right now? Kourtni and I just got back on good terms. If I tell her that I have to leave right now she’ll flip out, which won’t be good…at all.”
“I hate to say it, but you have to leave her house and come home now. You have to start packing. We’re going to be gone for a while.”
“This is just great,” I sighed as I ran my fingers through my hair. “Now I have to go and tell her the bad news. This isn’t going to go over very well…I hope you know that,” I said.
“I know it isn’t going to go well, and I’m sorry, but it’s what you have to do. She can come visit you sometime soon if she wants.”
“Ha, you are really funny mom. Do you know how much a plane ticket costs now-a-days? I highly doubt Kourtni would pay that much money for one, and I KNOW her mom wouldn’t pay that much for one.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Whatever,” I sighed as I started shaking my head. “I better go on ahead and break the news to her before I forget about it.”
“Okay…bye,” my mom said as she hung up her phone.
-In Love with a Memory-
When Teddy walked back into the room, I could tell by the look on his face that I wasn’t going to be happy with what he had to tell me about the phone call. He sat on the couch next to me and let out a huge sigh. This wasn’t going to be very good.
“I take it that the phone call wasn’t a great one?” I said as I rested my head on Teddy’s shoulder.
“It had good news and bad news all at the same time. I don’t know what to think of it,” Teddy replied as he slipped his arm around my waste.
“Tell me about it, please. I’m all ears and ready to listen to whatever it is that you have to tell me, whether it be good or bad.”
“You remember me telling you about that movie role I auditioned for, right?”
“Of course I remember it! How could I forget about it?” I said trying to sound exciting for Teddy. “Did you get it?”
“Yeah, I got the part.”
“Aw Teddy, that is so awesome! I’m so happy for you,” I said as I kissed Teddy’s cheek and followed by putting on a fake smile.
“Bad news is I have to leave right now and go home to start packing. We leave for Toronto early tomorrow morning.”
“Oh…okay,” I said with a sigh as I lifted my head off of Teddy’s shoulder and got up off of the couch, heading towards my room where I could cry my eyes out like I always do when he has to leave for a long time.
“Hey…wait up,” Teddy said as he quickly followed me, barely making it to my room before I shut the door and locked it.
“I don’t want to talk about it, okay? Just go on and leave while you have the chance,” I said as I turned my back towards Teddy and buried my face inside my hands.
“Turn around and look at me, please?” Teddy said as he reached out and grabbed my hand.
I turned around and looked at Teddy.
“At least give me the chance to say goodbye the right way,” Teddy replied.
“Alright…now’s your chance,” I said as I put my arms down by my side.
After I put my arms down by my side, Teddy kissed me.
“Bye,” he said as he turned and walked out of my room.
-In Love with a Memory-
“Katie…I can’t believe he’s gone to TORONTO. I’m never going to see him again,” I cried into my cell phone as Katie sat on the other end listening to my cry my eyes out.
“Kourt, you WILL get to see him again. He’s only gone off filming for a couple of months. Plus, you’ll be in contact with him…I’m sure,” Katie replied.
“I highly doubt he’ll remember me. He’ll go off to Toronto and meet some new chick and forget all about little old me.”
“Don’t say that when you know it isn’t true!”
“But Katie, it IS true! That is what’s going to happen!”
“No, that isn’t what’s going to happen! Here’s what’s going to happen…Teddy’s going off to film the movie, thinking about you twenty-four seven. He’ll wrap up the movie, come back home, and spend all of his time with you.”
“Stop saying that! It isn’t going to happen. I know it isn’t.”
“You have to quit being so negative towards the situation! Think positive about it. You should be happy that he got the part. It’s always been one of his big dreams, to be in a movie.”
“I know it has been, and I am happy for him. I just don’t want to see him go.”
“Nobody does Kourtni.”
“I was supposed to have FUN this summer, but since Teddy’s gone my summer is going to be miserable. I am going to spend the rest of my days and nights crying my eyes out knowing that he’s gone.”
“He isn’t GONE Kourtni.”
“YES HE IS! He’s gone to Toronto.”
“He’s gone away for now, but he’s coming back in a few months!”
“No he isn’t! After he finishes that movie he won’t come back. I know it.”
“Yes he will come back. He will miss you way too much to not come back as soon as he possibly can.”
“Doubt it,” I said as I wiped some tears off of my face.
“Look, I have to go. Brandon is taking me out for dinner and he just pulled up. I will call you later, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Bye.”
“Bye Katie,” I said as I hung up my phone.
Teddy, the boy I swore that I loved, was gone off to Toronto. Now that he was gone it felt like I wasn’t in love with him but that I was in love with a memory. Was I going to be able to make it through the upcoming months knowing that it would be a while before I saw Teddy or spoke to him again?
THE END!!!!!
no worries, i've already got the first chapter of the sequel to this fic written!

omg... he's leaving!
so glad he got a movie part but i wish they didn't have to say goodbye!
can't wait for the sequel!!!!!
