chapter 16
-Carry On-
We were now in the change sheds having showers and getting change. We had just played and won (16-9) the game. I was putting on my shoes when Lilly walked past and whipped my a** with her towel
“gotta whip it good” she said with a laugh
“ow its on” I said as I got my towel and tried to whip her back and failed.
“girls girls…..break it up……….you know you cant win against me” Ann said as we all laughed as she to joined in the fight and Emma came from around the corner
“ow towel fight……..my specialty” Emma said as she two joined it. By that time the whole change shed had joined it, and we were all having a massive towel fight. Oh the joys of soccer.
-Carry On-
After about 10 minutes and a couple of whips later we had all died down and we starting to pack our things.
“so is tomorrow good for all you guys to come over to mine, so we can finish this present off for Mitch and organise his party??” I asked as they all nodded
“ill bring the drink” Ann said as we all shoved our clothes into our bags
“and ill bring the tim tams” Emma said
“and ill bring……………ill bring my beautiful self” Lilly said as we all cracked up laughing
“and ill also bring along the starbursts” she added on as we all made our way out of the changing shed waving to everyone else on the team on the way out.
“ok so everyone meet at my house at 10.00 ok??” I said as we all nodded and quickly changed the subject as Mitch, Danny, Teddy and David came over to us
“there’s our little superstars” Danny said as Teddy walked over to me and Mitch walked over to Lilly an we hugged each other.
“you guys ready to go” Mitch said to us all
“oh Mitch I forgot to tell you, me and Cindy are going to walk home….you know” Teddy said as he made a face which I didn’t see but the guys did and laughed.
“oww right……..well you other guys ready to go, coz my mums in the car”
“ok ok well then we better get going” Ann said as we all said good bye to each other and walked our separate ways.
“ready to go?” Teddy asked as he grabbed onto my hand and our fingers automatically interlocked.
“am now” I said as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder with our finger still interlocked, and I put my hand around the back of his waist and laid my head on his shoulder as we started to walk.
-Carry On-
“I’ve figured it out” Ted stated as we were walking down the streets, with our fingers still interlocked and my head still of Teds shoulder as we walked.
“figured what out?” I said confused as I looked at him
“what you can teach me” he replied back
“what?” I said completely puzzled
“don’t you remember our deal……….” he said as I shock my head and he laughed
“the one where I teach you to play guitar and you teach me something of my choice” he added on as I suddenly remembered.
“ohhhh I remember now” I said with a smile to cover up the fact that I totally forgot about the deal
“yea well I’ve figured it out” he said
“oh really………are you going to tell me then” I asked
“no I was thinking of making you guess” he said as I glared at him. I hated guessing games, I just don’t know why people would make you guess something, when they clearly could just tell you
“you know I hate guessing games” I said in a mock kid tantrum tone as Teddy leaned down so our noses were touching
“I no……………but your cute when get angry” he said he gave me an Eskimo kiss (an Eskimo kiss is when you rub your nose’s together ….you know the cute way)
“im not angry” I said with a pouty face as he laughed
“ok ok……….so going back to the deal……… you can teach me how to play soccer” he said with a grin as I burst out in laughter
“omg that has got to be the funniest thing I have ever heard…………you play soccer ahaha” I said as I kept laughing and Teds grin had changed to a straight face
“what’s so funny” he asked seriously which made me laugh more
“you Teddy Geiger……… the guy who is so co-ordinate challenged when it comes to any sport, wants to play soccer” I said as I continued laughing
“ok it is seriously not that funny…………….and hey you cant talk your not exactly co-ordinated when it comes to guitar anyways” he said as my laughter died down
“hey not fair, you know the reason I suck so much is because my hands wont stretch as far as they need to” I said as Teddy was now the one who was laughing and I was the one with the straight face.
“oh yes blame the small hands” he said still laughing as he pulled our hands up in the air
“ok not funny anymore I get it I suck at guitar and you suck a soccer, hence why we are both going to teach one another” I said as Teddy died down laughing and my phone started to ring. I pulled it out if my back pocket and answered it
“hello” I said on my end of the phone
“hey Cindy its Kaitlyn, I was just wondering if you could please mind Hector for us tonight, coz we have to go out soon because the party is tonight and our nanny pulled out” she asked, she kinda seemed desperate. I told them in the first place I would mid him, but they felt slack always making me mind him so they got a nanny.
“yea sure its fine……me and Ted would love to mind him” I said as I looked at Ted and he raised his eyebrows
“really? Thankyou thankyou” she said back
“well ,we are literally at the end of the street so we will be there soon” I said
“ok then see you soon” she said as we both hung up.
“so I take it we are minding Hector then” he said as I gave him a smile
“yea do you mind” I said as I gave him a innocent little girls smile and he gave in
“now how could I say no to that” he said as he wrapped his arm around me shoulder and pulled me into a hug.
-Carry On-
We were now back at my house in the lounge room on our hands and knees trying to teach Hector how to walk.
“come on bubba, this left one goes like this…..” I said as I got up and trying showing him how to do it, and Teddy started laughing once again
“come on Hec follow your aunty egghead over there” Teddy said as I sat back down and gave him a look
“aunty egghead……..ow real mature Geiger” I said as he let out a giggle.
“mummy” we heard someone say…..that someone being Hector. I just looked at Teddy and Teddy looked back at me. Did Hector just say his first word
“OMG HE SAID HIS FIRST WORD” I screamed as I picked him up and lifted him high up in the air and then did the airplane game with him.
“I cant believe he said his first word………and I was one of the two people who heard it” Teddy said as he came over to us and Hector grabbed onto his hand
“I no same here, I always though Kait or Ben would be the first to hear him speak” I said in an excited voice “I cant wait till they get home so I can tell them” I said as Teddy’s phone rang and he answered
“hey mum what’s up…………………ok why what’s wrong……..mum are you ok…….ok ok im on my way now………alright bye……love you to…….cya” Teddy said as he hung up the phone
“what’s going on??” I asked Teddy as he put his phone back in his pocket and I put Hector into his swing thingy.
“um I don’t really know, mum just said that her and dad are calling a family meeting and they need me home ASAP” he said as he came closer to me
“ow ok sounds serious” I said
“I think it is, I can sense that there is something seriously wrong, and my mum sounded like she had been crying” he said as I walked closer into him and hugged him
“well you better get going then” I said as Teddy pulled me in tighter
“yea……….but Cindy…” he said as he stopped
“yea” I said
“im scared…………..there is something wrong, and my parents have never ever called a family meeting before………so this is something serious and im scared as to what that is” Teddy said as he pulled me in even tighter so I could hardly breathe
“Teddy im sure its not that bad………but you know that im always here for you if you need me” I said as I pulled away form his hug to look him in his eyes
“thanks…..I know your always here for me that’s what’s keeping me reassured at the moment………….the fact that you will be here for me” he said as I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist
“well whatever it is you and your family will get through it ok……..now go your mum wanted you there ASAP remember:” I said as Ted nodded
“alright then…I better be going” he said as we pulled away from each other and I walked Teddy to the door.
“bye babe” Teddy said as we enveloped into a hug
“bye carebear” I said as Teddy quickly pulled away and looked at me with a grin. Carebear was what I used to call Teddy when we were first friends. He was always the most caring one out of the group hence the care part and coz his name was Teddy so that where bear came from teddy-Bear, anyway and in return he called me Angel- Cindy was the name of his grandmothers guardian angel so he called me his angel coz my name was Cindy
“oh man……you haven’t called me that in like forever” he said as I smiled
“that’s coz I only just remembered it now” I said as we pulled each other back into a hug
“bye Angel” he whispered in my ear as he leaned down and kissed me, and we pulled away form the hug as he started to walk towards the stairs. I grabbed his hand
“everything is going to be ok Ted” I said as he walked back over to me. We kissed one last time as Teddy pulled away and walked down my front stairs. I watched him walk down my street, and walked back inside when I could see him anymore.

Teddy P.O.V
I now reached my front door, and were contemplating on opening the door. I could sense that something was wrong and I knew that my parents would never call a family meeting to just say hi how you going, so now I was standing here outside my front door half of me wanting to open the door, but the other half of me wanting to run back to Cindy’s house and play with her and Hector again.
I finally came to my senses and opened the front door
“Mum….Dad….im home” I called out as I closed the door
“where in here” my dad said as I turned right and saw that they - they being mum, dad, A.j and Rachel were in the family room that was right there when you walked in the front door.
“what’s going on?” I asked as I took a seat next to Rachel and my dad cleared his throat and went to speak but nothing came out. He looked like he had been crying, I looked over to my mum and saw a tear escape from her eye. It looked like she had been crying for a while now as well, her eyes were all blood shot and her face was all red and puffy.
“mum…dad………..what the heck is going on?” I asked again as my dad tried talking again, but ended up in starting to cry instead. I looked over at Rachel and A.J they looked as clueless as I did and as worried as I did. We all got up off the lounge and went to comfort our parents who were now bawling their eyes out.

Still Teddy P.O.V
My parents had finally calmed down and were now just sitting there staring at us kids, who were know sitting in front of them on the floor.
“Mum……..Dad” I started as I was cut off by my mum
“Teddy darling…….come into the kitchen with me and your father please” my mum said as her and my father got up and walked out of the room followed by me.
“ok mum dad what the hell is going on” I asked as we sat down at the table
“Teddy its Rachel……….” my mum started.
I couldn’t believe what they had just told me. My parents were both in tears now, but I was just sitting there motionless…….. It hadn’t hit me yet.
All of a sudden a tear escaped from my eye and it had finally hit me. I couldn’t deal with this, not now, not after what happened when she was born, I couldn’t go through it again. I quickly stood up and ran out of the kitchen
“Teddy…..where are you going?” my mum called after me as I opened the front door and started running. I don’t know where I was going to go, but I knew that I would end up somewhere…….most likely Cindy’s house.

Back to Cindy’s P.O.V
I was now sitting on my window sill with my blanket and my Teddy bear - the two most prized possessions in my life, why were they so special? because they were both made by my mum and given to me when I was first born. I had never lived a day without them, and never planned to.
I sat there looking out the window with my ipod in my hands, when I heard the door bell ring. I didn’t bother moving because I knew that someone downstairs would get it, so instead I put my headphones in my ears and let the sweet sound of John Mayer’s “Gravity” fill my ears.
Half way through the song I could hear my named been called, and the tone of the voice sounded urgent. I took the earphones out of my ear and turned my ipod off, leaving it on my window sill with my bear and blanket as I walked out of my room towards the stairs.
-Carry On-
I walked down the stairs and saw Mat standing at the bottom of the stairs with a worried look on his face. He started gesturing to me to hurry up with my hands.
“what’s wrong” I asked as I started to run down the stairs
“Cindy the door………its for you” he said as he pointed to the door, with an even worried look on his face. I reached the bottom of the stairs and ran straight to the front door. I opened it up to see Teddy kneeling down on the ground with his head on the floor rocking backwards and forwards bawling his eyes out. ‘what the hell has happened’ I though to myself
“TEDDY” I basically yelled as I ran over to him and dropped to the floor and he lifted his head up off of the floor
“Teddy, what’s wrong, what’s happened……….Teddy answer me” I said as I grabbed his face with both my hands and looked into his watery eyes. They were all red puffy and blood shot. I pulled him closer to me and pulled him into a big hug as he cried into my shoulder
“shh shhh its ok Teddy calm down” I repeated over and over whilst stroking his hair
