I'm trying to finish the chapter up. My computer, for some odd reason, started acting funny with the internet last night...so I just got off and went to bed early. That's why none was posted last night.

Chapter 7
Quite a few months had passed since I had seen Teddy. It was the day before Teddy’s eighteenth birthday, and I was stuck in a hospital…waiting on this baby to come. Teddy was in Pennsylvania trying to get a flight back home so he could make it here in time before the baby was born.
“I am starting to wonder if he is going to make it on time,” I said to Kaylie as I looked over at the small alarm clock that had the time of 11:59 PM on it.
“Kourtni, I am sure he will be here on time. You don’t have anything to worry about,” Kaylie reassured me as she stood next to my bed.
“But, it’s basically the sixteenth…Teddy’s birthday…and I’m like four centimeters or something like that. I don’t have that much longer to go before this baby gets here.”
“I just got a text from Teddy,” Jesse said as he stood up and walked over towards my bed.
“Well…what did he say?” I asked as I readjusted my pillow.
“He said he is up in the air somewhere, possibly over Georgia. He thinks he’s switching planes in Atlanta, but he isn’t really sure. He estimates that he will be here around five or six later this morning,” Jesse said as he read the message from his Sidekick.
“At least it isn’t too much longer,” I sighed as I closed my eyes.
-Just So You Know-
The next few hours came and gone, me tossing and turning as I tried to get some rest. It was nearing the six o’clock in the morning mark and there was still no sign of Teddy…yet.
“I am starting to get worried,” I said to Kaylie as the door to my room opened.
“It’s time for another check on things Miss Kourtni,” my doctor said as she came in and sat on the end of my bed. “Have you gotten any sleep since the last time I saw you?”
“I have tried getting sleep, but I’m just worried about Teddy not making it. I kept tossing and turning.”
“You don’t need to worry about him so much sweetie. I’m sure he is trying his very best to get here on time and before anything happens.”
“I tried not to worry about him, but I just couldn’t help it.”
“Well, it seems like you are completely dilated. You are ready to push with the next contraction.”
“Great. Teddy is going to miss everything.”
“I’m sure he will be here momentarily,” my doctor smiled as she stood up and began to get ready for the whole delivery process. “You have to think positive at a time like this.”
“Right,” I nodded as I felt a contraction.
-Just So You Know-
An hour of pushing had passed, and it seemed like I wasn’t making any progress…until now.
“Alright…the baby’s head is RIGHT here,” my doctor said as the door flung open.
“EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY! TEDDY IS HERE!” Teddy somewhat yelled as he ran in the room, almost tripping over his own two feet.
“You got here just in time Teddy,” Kaylie said as she hugged Teddy right before he came over to stand next to my bed.
“Hey there gorgeous,” Teddy said as he kissed my forehead.
“GORGEOUS? I THINK NOT,” I yelled.
“Okay Kourtni…one more push and we should have a little baby,” my doctor said as I gave it one last try.
“Got it,” I nodded as I pushed what would hopefully be my last one for a long time.
“Congratulations…you two have a bouncing baby boy,” my doctor said with a smile as she put the baby on my stomach as the nurses hovered over me while trying to wipe him off all at the same time. “What is the little guy’s name so I can record it so that it can be submitted on the birth certificate?”
“His name is Addison Theodore Geiger,” Teddy spoke up as the nurses took little Addison over to the table where he was going to be weighed. “I bet he was seven pounds and three ounces.”
“Oh heck no, he weighs more than that! I bet he was eight pounds and two ounces,” I replied as the scale began to measure his weight.
“Eight pounds even,” one of the nurses shouted out. “And he’s twenty inches long.”
“I was close enough,” I laughed as the nurses wrapped Addison up and began to bring him back over towards me. “Hey Teddy, guess what?”
“What?” Teddy asked as he looked down at me and Addison.
“Happy Birthday,” I smiled as Addison slowly began to open his eyes. “He already looks like you Teddy! Look at his nose…and his hair!”
“This has to be the best birthday present anyone could’ve have ever given me. Thanks,” Teddy said with a smile as he bent down and kissed Addison on his forehead.
-Just So You Know-
It was almost lunch time, and I was feeding Addison for what felt like the hundredth time. This little guy wouldn’t stop taking his bottle.
“He seems pretty thirsty…don’t you think?” Teddy asked as he paced around my hospital room with Addison in his arms.
“What are you doing?” I asked with a small laugh.
“I don’t know. He looks kind of upset so I am trying to cheer him up.”
“Teddy, if he is making funny faces that only means one thing. His diaper needs to be changed. The diapers, wipes, and everything else you will need is on the little cart thingy they brought in for him.”
“Do you really think I’m going to change his diaper? Changing diapers isn’t my expertise.”
“So? You’re going to have to change plenty of diapers in your lifetime I’m sure. It won’t hurt you.”
“How come you can’t do it?”
“I am going to have to do it way more than you ever will, especially if you are out on the road. Speaking of which, when do you have to leave and go back to wherever you need to be going to?”
“I think they are giving me a month or two, maybe even longer. Things weren’t actually finalized when I left so I don’t know. It is also my birthday so they may be extra nice and give me a few added days, weeks, or whatever they feel like.”
“A few added weeks would be simply amazing. It would give us that much more time to spend together.”
“You are right,” Teddy said as he sat Addison down in his little cart as he prepared to change his diaper. “Is his room finished?”
“Yep, it’s all finished. It looks amazing too. I love everything that is in there. You are going to love it too, I hope.”
“What was the overall room theme we went with again?”
“It has a lot of pale-ish blues, like sky blue and those kinds of colors. I promise it doesn’t look a bit girly either. We made sure it looks very masculine.”
“Oh, I wasn’t going to complain about the colors. I was confident that you wouldn’t let the room turn out to be too terribly girly. You knew I had faith in whatever you did with the room.”
“Well, I am glad to hear you say that. It’s nice. And, I am sorry we cannot be at home doing something a little bit nicer for your birthday. I had planned on us going out to eat or getting something for takeout, but I guess that won’t happen until later.”
“Don’t worry about doing something extravagant for my birthday. This is probably the best birthday I will ever have! You don’t know how amazing I feel right now. It is so cool to have my child be born on the same day I was born. I always dreamed of that happening one day, and here we are. It has happened and I couldn’t ask for anything else,” Teddy smiled as he lifted Addison out of the cart and brought him over to me. “I think he wants another bottle.”
“He shouldn’t need another one for another few hours or so. Maybe he’s tired or something. I’m going to try and see if he will take a small nap so I can squeeze one in too. I haven’t gotten any sleep the past two days.”
“Okay. I’m going to go down to the waiting room and see if my mom has made it here or not. If she has made it, do you care if I bring her in to see Addison?”
“Nope, I don’t mind at all.”
“I will be back shortly,” Teddy said with a smile as he walked out of the room in route to the waiting room where he would hopefully find his mom.
-Just So You Know- -Teddy’s POV-
“Hi mom,” I said as I went up and hugged my mom as my younger siblings ran up and hugged me as well.
“So…tell me about the baby,” my mom replied as she hugged me back.
“It’s a healthy baby boy, eight pounds even and twenty inches long. His name is Addison Theodore Geiger and we have the same birthday!”
“Can we go see him Teddy?” my little brother asked as he began to tug on my shirt.
“Yes, you can go and see him. Kourtni’s already said that you could come in. She cannot wait for everyone to see the little guy. He’s just adorable.”
“Who does he look like?” my mom asked as we began the walk back to the elevator so we could get in and go up to the floor Kourtni’s room was on.
“Kourtni says he looks like me, but I kind of think he looks like her more than he does me. I guess we won’t be able to really tell until he gets a little older.”
“Well…let’s get on in this elevator so we can go up and see him!”
-Just So You Know-
“We have some visitors,” Teddy said as he entered the room followed by his mom and younger siblings.
“Hey everybody,” I said with a smile as I got a hug from Teddy’s mom. “This is little Addison Theodore Geiger.”
“Can I hold him?” Teddy’s mom asked.
“Of course you can hold him! You are his grandmother.”
“Hey Addison…this is your grandma,” Teddy’s mom said as she held Addison. “Wow, he is the cutest little thing I have ever seen in my life. Teddy, he does look like you when you were a baby!”
“That’s what I was trying to tell him, but he didn’t think so. He swears up and down that he looks like me.”
“Nope, you can definitely tell this is Teddy’s baby.”
“Told you I was right,” I laughed as Teddy kissed my forehead. “Just admit that you were wrong.”
“I guess I was wrong,” Teddy laughed as he pulled up a chair and sat next to my bed.
“MOMMY…I WANT TO HOLD HIM!” Teddy’s younger brother screamed as he jumped up and down.
“You will have to ask Kourtni if you can hold him,” Teddy’s mom said as he little brother walked over to me.
“May I hold the baby…PLEASE?” Teddy’s little brother asked me.
“Sure,” I said with a smile as I gave him a pat on the back. “You just have to be careful with him since he’s so little, okay?”
“I got it,” he said as his mom began to carefully hand him the baby. “I should probably sit down for this…right mommy?”
