I walked into the living room, and my Dad sat there watching TV. He barely blinked when I shut the door behind me.

"Dad?" I probably shouldn't have said anything, but I suppose making sure he hadn't passed out was my job. He looked at me.

"Hey sweetie. There's some dinner in the fridge." What's going on? Am I being punk'd?

I nodded timidly. "Ok. Thanks."

I sat my bags down by the edge of the stairs and entered the kitchen as my Dad continued to watch whatever show he had been so interested in. My cell phone rang in my bag, but I decided to let whoever it was leave a message and I would get back to them later. It was probably Taylor anyway.

I placed the food in the microwave, and then put my back to it. I couldn't help but be a little nervous around my Dad.

I ate my food quickly and then went upstairs to do some homework before falling asleep.

"Sweetie are you awake?" My Dad called from outside my door. "Taylor's here to take you to school."

"Ok. I need to take a quick shower." I got out of bed and quickly hopped in the shower. I was a little nervous for Taylor being there. We hardly ever came to my house for anything since my Mom... I just hoped my Dad didn't snap.

"Are you ok?" Tay asked as she looked at me. She had just gotten her Jeep Liberty back from the shop and we were able to ride to school together again. Someone had rear-ended her at a red light a month ago, and the vehicle was almost declared totalled.

"Huh? Yeah... I'm fine. I just feel like I'm forgetting something," I lied. "Did you call me last night? I forgot to check my voice mail."

She nodded. "I called to tell you about the Lib." She always referred to it that way.

"Oh ok. Sorry I didn't call back. Whoa! What's going on?" I laughed as we pulled into her regular parking spot. "Is that Teddy and Sadie?"

She let out a huge laugh. "Looks like she's letting him have it."

"And he probably didn't even do anything," I laughed.

"What?" She flipped her long brown hair over her shoulder. She was always so naturally beautiful. I wish I was like that.

"I just heard him and Chris talking in Algebra... He was talking about how crazy he thinks she is."

We stepped out of the car and lifted ourselves up onto the hood so we could watch and listen over the rest of the crowd.

"Forget the oak tree," I heard Taylor mumble. "This is like... perfect view."

"Come on, go ahead! Break up with me... I saw you looking at that stupid girl in your math class!" Oh crap, was she talking about me? Seriously?

"What are you talking about?" He started laughing as she accused him of things he hadn't done. "You know.. You're a complete psycho. You're so psycho I should take out a restraining order. We're through. I'm so sick of hearing your crap."

We watched as he walked across the parking lot and into the building. Tay even stood up and clapped, and everyone laughed at her as they too made their way into the school.

"I think you might want to get down from there," a male voice said from her side of the car.

"Oh hey, Chris." I teased her as her cheeks immediately began to grow a red color.

"Hey, Taylor... Your brother is in my weight training class and he said that you didn't have a date to the dance... I was hoping you'd go with me?"

"Oh did Reid tell you that?" She said nervously as she crouched down to jump off her car. She accidentally slipped, and he caught her thin frame so that she wouldn't fall.

I almost gagged at the cheesiness of her acting skills. She so planned that slip-up. "Yes he did. So what do you say?"

"Sure." She smiled nervously at him as she scribbled her number down onto a sheet of paper for him.

He gave her a quick hug before walking inside to join Teddy in class.

"Oh my gosh, Tay!" I squealed. "You have a flippin' date!"

"Shut up," her cheeks were still a pale shade of red, and I couldn't help but want to tease her about it.

"So you asked her?" Teddy asked Chris in Algebra.

"Yeah."

"Awesome. So who are you going to vote for Homecoming Queen?" It seemed like Teddy was the curious one today.

"Duh... my date." He laughed and Teddy couldn't help but laugh as well. "What about you? Still voting for psycho b*tch?"

He let out a laugh. "No way. Not even if a little piggy flies through this window and lands on my desk. I'm thinking of voting for -"

"Teddy! Chris! Stop talking, I'm trying to give notes now," our teacher snapped and I couldn't help but feel a little sad. I wanted to know who he was voting for.

"Hey," he whispered to me. "Hey... Do you have a pen?"

I gave him a weird look. "Yeah.." I fumbled around nervously until I found one in my purse and handed it to him. I hoped it worked.

I smiled nervously at him before returning at least half of my attention back to the notes... I couldn't stop watching him.
