"One hour left, you guys!" Ashlyn cried excitedly as I spun my finger in the air to mock her.

"Loads of fun."

"Why are you so pessimistic now?" Teddy asked me curious. "Before I left.. the first time.. you were, like, the most optimistic person I knew. Now you're not so much.."

I shrugged. "People change when their best friends lie to them." What else was I supposed to say? 'Oh, don't worry about it Ted, none of it's your fault. It's just me being a complete b****?' Because from my perspective, that surely wasn't the case.

He looked around at everyone else enjoying themselves. "I think I'm going to head home now." I knew I had just caused him to leave, but then again, it did almost sound like it was code for 'Come with me'.

"Do you mind giving me a ride home?" I asked curiously. "I rode here and to The Basement with Ash.. so I don't have a vehicle to drive."

He gave me an odd look that I couldn't read, for once. It almost scared me.

"You know, June.." He wasn't going to do it. I could feel it. "I can never say no to you. Let's go." He exited the house quickly as I told everyone what was going on. Sure, they gave me questioning looks, but I ignored them. It wasn't any of their business anymore.

By the time I made it out to his family's van, he had already started it and warmed it up. I climbed in silently and buckled up.

He passed my house and pulled into his driveway quickly. Wow. He must've been angry with me.

"You know. I try to be friends with you now.. but it's like there's this hole that you won't let close. It's driving me insane. I've done everything I could possibly think to do." He told me.

I just watched him run his hands through his hair and tug at the ends slightly.

"You know that picture you gave me? The one of us on the hammock?" I nodded. "I wish I could rewind to that day and tell you every single thought that was going through my head that day."

"So tell me now." I said quietly.

"You really want to know?" I nodded as he continued. "As you fell asleep with your feet all draped over me, I couldn't help but notice what cute feet you had. And then, I noticed the small smile that never faded from your face while you were sleeping and then how your hair fell in your face while the wind blew.. I thought to myself.. 'This girl is special. She's the most important person in my life besides me.' You know what else I thought?" He asked as his face got inches away from mine. I wanted to kiss those lips.

I shook my head in disbelief as a silver sports car pulled into his driveway and the driver honked the horn. I rolled my eyes as I heard Julianne's high pitched voice call out his name.

I rolled my eyes. "Once again.. I'll see you later Teiger." I quickly got out of the van and headed in the direction of my house.

Why didn't I just get up the nerve myself to kiss him first and tell him how I feel instead of waiting for him? Now, I hate myself and him for both of us not being able to express what was hidden deep down inside.

I changed into my warmest pajamas as I watched the last few seconds fade away as that big, lighted, glass ball became lower and lower to the ground.

I flipped the tv off after seeing several happy couples give each other New Year's kisses and rolled onto my side to fall asleep.

I wasn't sure how late I slept that morning, but when I was finally waken by my Mom, I had a huge headache and my nose was stopped up.

"I told you. You shouldn't have been out there in the cold so much." She scolded me.

"I'm sorry, but I can't live in a plastic bubble. And it's not just cold weather that does this to me. When spring rolls around I'm going to get allergies and then in Summer, the mosquitos are going to attack me as I walk across a parking lot to my Jeep." I told her. "It's a never-ending cycle. I've learned to deal with it."

"Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," Hayden said as he walked into the kitchen fully dressed and acting chipper as ever.

I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Don't be mean to your sister, she's sick."

"Again? Man, June. You need to be wrapped in plastic wrap or something so the germs can't get to you." He laughed.

"I'm going back to bed." I told them. "After I soak in a hot bath. If anyone calls.. and not that they will, seeing as how I am now a fifth wheel in my group of friends.. I'm not taking calls or visitors today. This is a me day."

"Ok. Just make sure you clean your room while you're up there." My Mom told me cheerfully.

I got the bath water as hot as I possibly could stand so that it would stay warmer longer, and poured in a bit of lavender scented bubble bath.

"Knock, Knock," I heard someone say as they tapped on my door lightly and entered my room, where I was now sleeping.

"What do you want?" I asked as I rolled over to meet Teddy's gaze.

"Well. I didn't get to finish our conversation last night." He told me.

"Look, I'm sure Julianne is waiting on you to take her to the mall or the city or somewhere that she can max out "Daddy's" credit card." I rolled my eyes and plopped back down on my bed.

"What's wrong with you?" He asked.

"You want to know what is wrong with me?" I asked angrily as I sat back up. "First off, I can't breathe out of the right side of my nose, and second off, I can't sit here and pretend like I'm ok, when everytime I hear her annoying voice I feel my heart ripping just a little more and I cringe. You know why? Because I've always wanted to be with you Ted. I wanted to be the one you would say 'One day we're going to get married and have tons of kids.' I wanted to be that girl you called while you were on tour, but once you actually left, I realized you didn't care about me. And now I realize it's all music and bimbos for you, Theodore."

He looked at me for a minute to make sure I was finished talking before speaking. "And you want to know what I was going to say last night? I was going to say that while I was sitting there looking at you I thought you were so beautiful and that you were someone I never wanted to be without."

I sighed and started cryingas I pulled my knees to my chest and flopped over onto my side.

"Hey.. don't cry." He laughed a little. "Those things aren't supposed to make you cry."

"If all those things are true, then why did you call? Why did you wait until now?"

"Because I thought you would for sure find someone who was more attractive and always there. Not someone who is on the road all the time. Someone who would be there to bring you a flower everytime you're sick or remember all your favorite songs of the moment."

I shook my head as he wiped the tears off my face and kissed my forehead. "I still don't understand why you couldn't call your best friend Ted. That was what killed me the most. I got over that promise, but you not at least calling was what killed me."

"I'm sorry for that." He said as his phone began to ring. "I'm busy right now. I'll call you back."

I knew it was her calling. "Teddy.. go to her. She's only in it because you're famous, but at least be man enough not to stand her up and keep her waiting."

"But she's not what I want."

"Well then be man enough to break up with her in person." I told him.

"What about you?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I'll always be your best friend and I'll always be here to answer your calls." I told him and sighed sadly.

I saw a tear roll down his cheek and he nodded. "Ok. That's good enough for me. I need to get home. She's over there, and I have somethings to discuss with her. I'll see you tonight, right?"

"I'll be there with my guitar." I told him and smiled sadly as I stood to give him a hug.

It had been so long since I had even stood this close to him. His arms felt so good around me. I rested my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat as he began talking. "The same goes for me. I'll be here too."

I nodded as I pulled away. "See you later, Teiger."

He half-smiled as he turned around and left me all alone in my room once again.

i'm pretty sure he is the cutest thing ever.
i know he was a bit of a jerk to june but he loves her and she loves him so i think its alll gonna work out

"Yeah. We're almost done packing stuff up now. I sort of slipped out of the room and made some excuse about having to use the bathroom because I'm, like, so exhausted." Teddy told me as he sat in a dark closet in a venue somewhere in Nevada.

"Hah." I laughed. "So where are you guys going to be next?"

He had left in the middle of January to go on another month-long tour.

"Oh. We're actually heading home after this." He laughed. "I thought you of all people would be a good enough friend to visit my website more than once a month."

"Shut up. I just don't feel the need to when you call me." I laughed as things got quiet for a minute. "Yeah.. so how is Julianne doing?" They were still dating. He said something along the lines of wanting to see where it took him.

"I don't know. She's.. too superficial for me." He told me. "And she doesn't answer my calls. I'm going to end it when I get to home."

I nodded to myself. "That's cool, I guess."

"And then, you and me.." He started to say. "Can hang out and get milkshakes by ourselves.. without her. Alone. No one else. Well maybe Ashlyn and Shawn.. and maybe even Jason and Carrie.. He's a cool dude, that Jason."

"Oh? And when did you two become such good friends?" I asked curiously.

"OH.. um. I uh, gave him a call.. and he answered a few questions for me.. yeah. He's very informative. A real information storage.. thing."

I rolled my eyes and started laughing. "You are the biggest goober I know. What did you ask him?"

"You don't need to know about it." He said quickly.

"What was that?"

"Don't worry about it." He laughed as I heard a loud bang on his end. "Gah, Evan. I did my packing!" He laughed as I heard him open the door. I heard kissy noises and couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh June.." I heard Evan say and I almost started laughing.

"Shut up, man. It's not like that," I heard him playfully smack Evan on the back of the head.

"Oh but you wish it was.." Evan laughed as I heard running footsteps.

"Ok, Ted." I laughed. "I need to go, I've got that report in English due and it's like, a zillion pages long, so it needs to get printed sometime soon, and we're out of paper, so I'm going to have to go to the store, and then I'll probably end up having to buy ink and spend more money and time.. so I really need to get going."

I heard him laugh at me. "And you say I ramble?"

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes.

"Ok. Ok. I'll let you go." He said. "So I'll see you when we get back."

"Ok.."

"June?" He asked.

"Yeah?"

"..Nevermind. I'll see you later." I could hear him smile as he hung up the phone.

I missed him. He was due to get back on Valentine's Day, which was sort of weird for me. It was like a Valentine's Day present for me for him to get home, but at the same time, things weren't that way for us.

I ran into Ashlyn at Wal-Mart, picking up almost the exact same things I was for the same exact report. "He so better get me something for Valentine's." I heard a familiar annoying voice coming around the corner.

Ash and I gave each other questioning looks as we tried to go about our own business, as Julianne ran right into us.

"Oh. It's you." She rolled her eyes. "Anyway. So you talk to Teddy lately?" She asked.

I nodded. "Yeah. Why?"

"Well I haven't and I was just wondering if he said anything to you about a gift.. for me."

"Well, I wouldn't know anything about your relationship with him." I told her. "We try not to talk about it."

She scoffed loudly and hung her mouth open.

"Jules," One of her friends said. "I thought you said you weren't dating him anymore. I mean, we all saw you with Chase Barlow."

"I don't know what you're talking about," She said awkwardly as Ashlyn and I walked off, leaving her to argue with her friends.

Ashlyn and I started laughing as soon as we were out of hearing distance of them. "Oh man. I feel bad for Ted, now." She said sadly.

"Honestly? I don't think he would really care. He kind of assumes, really. She never answers his calls." I told her honestly.

"Oh." I nodded as we paid for our things and then went our seperate ways.

Today is possibly the worst day in history. Or at least my history anyway. Sure, it's Valentine's Day, and it's supposed to be romantic, but seriously, I seemed to be getting the worst out of everything.

First off, it was raining and on my way into school I stepped into a huge puddle, soaking my foot and part of my pants. Then, at lunch, I spilt chocolate milk on my shirt, and I wasn't even drinking chocolate milk. And now, my keys are locked in my Jeep.

Hayden was supposed to be on his way over with my spare, but that was an hour ago when I called him. I propped my butt on the tire and sat down on it, hoping that I wouldn't get it too dirty.. not that it would be worse than anything else that had happened to me.

I don't know how much longer I was there, but it was almost four thirty when he arrived.

"It's about time!" I yelled at him as he stuck half his body out of the window and threw the keys at me. "Where the hell were you?!"

"Chill, June." He said calmly. "There was a wreck on the way here. Now hurry up. Mom needs you to get home so that they can go out."

I rolled my eyes. I was always everyone's flunkie. When they needed a babysitter, I was the one they forced into it. Sure they gave me twenty bucks for it, but it just wasn't right for them to always dump it on me.

Bree had finally moved out and into her boyfriend's apartment, and they had plans, as did Hayden and his girlfriend. I slammed my door shut behind me and I started up the engine and drove off angrily, splashing water onto his vehicle while I was at it.

They were finally asleep, and I had the house to myself to do whatever I wanted. I got out a pot and filled it with water to make me something for dinner. I poured noodles in just as it started to boil and the doorbell rang.

I turned the heat down a little on the stove so that things wouldn't burn before going to answer it.

"Word on the street is that you're having a bad day." Teddy said as he smiled playfully at me.

I couldn't help but smile back. "Well then it's official. Everyone knows all the details of my life."

"Actually it was just Ashlyn and Jason that told me." He shrugged his shoudlers as he sat down on the kitchen counter while I cooked.

"Hungry?" I asked curiously and he nodded. "Good, because I'm making my specialty. Macaroni and cheese."

He laughed. "As always."

"Yep. So.."

"I broke up with Julianne about five minutes ago." He told me and I snorted. "And oh did you get what I left you at school?"

I shook my head. "Good because I didn't leave you anything." He laughed.

"Teddy the Tease." I laughed as he hopped off the counter. "But I did get you these." He said, pulling flowers from behind his back. How had I not noticed them before?

"Aww. Daisies. Thank you so much." I told him. "Makes my day better already."

"Oh? Well, just wait. By the time I leave here.. you'll be the happiest person on Earth."

"Ok, Teddy." I laughed as I stirred the noodles once more.

awwww! teddy is such a cutie. umm yeah i talked to him on the fone last night, for about a minute then he had to go cuz he was taking pictures with people and signing autographs...hmm i wish i could have talked to him longer though...
