Yeah. I'm really busy at the moment. I just got a new memory stick for my camera, so some little girls I babysit wanted to make some videos to put on youtube. I have to work tomorrow too, so I doubt I'll post tomorrow. Ah. I hate this. Possibly Friday.

When A Heart Breaks Teddy FF; Sequel to “Telluride”
Chapter 1:
“No one ever told me it would come to this. What began with such a promise would end with such a twist.” - Dave Barnes “When a Heart Breaks”.
-Teddy's POV-
It had been a whole year since I had last seen or spoken to Kourtni. When she didn't call me after the first few days of her being back in Tennessee, I gave up on working things out with her. I realized maybe we weren't meant to be.
In the mean time, I have been busy touring. Touring has been going a LOT better than I expected. It's a lot of fun, especially when I get to meet the fans. I love when they walk up to me and tell me that they love my music. It really means a lot to me.
But as I listen to various people tell me how they relate to my music, I can't help but remember how I got here. Kourtni was the reason I got here. If it weren't for her or her uncle, I wouldn't be where I am today. I still have her to thank for my career.
“Teddy...are you just about ready? It's time for the autograph signing,” my mom called from outside my hotel room.
Another autograph signing...this one was in Nashville, Tennessee. Of course my first stop on this tour was in the town where Kourtni lives. I was just praying I wouldn't run into her this time. I didn't want my twentieth birthday to be ruined.
“Coming mom,” I said as I threw my brush on the counter and headed out of my room.
-When a Heart Breaks-
I walked into the local record store, surrounded by hundreds of my fans. They had made a line that stretched all down the block. This was by far the biggest crowd I had seen at a signing.
“Oh my gosh, Teddy...I am your BIGGEST fan!” the first girl in line exclaimed as she stepped up to the table and placed what she wanted signed in front of me.
“Why...thank you,” I said as I quickly signed my name and moved on to the next item.
“Can I get my picture with you?” I could already hear the next girl asking.
“Sure thing sweetie,” I smiled as the younger girl, about twelve, said as she walked behind the table.
“Say cheese,” the little girl's mom said as she snapped the picture.
“Thanks Teddy!” the girl said as I signed her CD cover and watched her walk off with her mom.
I looked up at the next person in line, and my mouth dropped. It was Kourtni's uncle.
“Mr. Paisley...what brings you here?” I asked him as he approached the table.
“Well, I'm the one who got you this deal. The least I could do would be to come by and say 'hello' to you at your first signing in Nashville,” he replied.
“Oh, that's good. I figured you were here to fuss at me about not talking to Kourtni.”
“I'm going to save that for later.”
“Oh boy,” I sighed.
-When a Heart Breaks-
My autograph signing lasted a full three hours. Afterwards I decided to go to the local House of Blues restaurant. When I walked in, I noticed there was a special performer. I looked all around for signs of who it could be, but there were no indications of who it was. I shrugged it off and took a seat at an empty table.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome back to the stage...Tyler Hilton!” someone announced as a waitress came to my table and asked what I wanted to drink.
“Thank you...thank you,” the voice of Tyler Hilton said as the applause died down. “I'd like to bring a special guest up for this song. We've been friends for a good while, and I just decided to record this and put it on my album. I've made it into a duet, and my special guest...well, she's going to be the one I'm doing the duet with. So, why don't you come on up?”
“Be right back,” the waitress said as she walked off to get my drink.
Tyler then began playing his guitar. Minutes later he began to sing.
Give me a city view, A glass of wine or two, And a strong imagination.
Give me a TV show, A remote that I can control, And a myriad of stations.
But I've thought about it. And I can do without it. I'm thinking I'll be alright.
I'd rather be lonely. I'd rather have no love, Then to know love like this. And if I know one thing, It's that I'd rather have something, Then to hold on to something That doesn't exist. I'd rather be lonely. I'd rather be lonely.
As I listened to the song and who was singing it, I realized I recognized the female's voice. I turned around to look back at the stage and there she sat. It was just who I thought it was singing...Kourtni.
Give me a ticket for one To the saddest kind of movie That's showing after midnight.
Or just a map to read And a gas station cup of coffee Me, the asphalt, and the moonlight.
I've thought about it. And I can do without it. I'm thinking I'll be alright.
I'd rather be lonely. I'd rather have no love, Then to know love like this. And if I know one thing It's that I'd rather have nothing Then to hold on to something That just don't exist. I'd rather be lonely.
And I've thought about, And I can do without it. I'm thinking I'll be alright. I'd rather be lonely. I'd rather have no love, Then to know love like this. And if I know one thing It's that I'd rather have nothing Then to hold on to something That just don't exist. I'd rather be lonely. I'd rather be lonely. Yes, I'd rather be lonely.
Everyone in the audience, including myself, applauded the performances.
“Thank you,” I heard Kourtni's voice say. “Well, I haven't done this singing thing in a while, but I'd like to bring up another friend of both mine and Tyler's. Her name is Taylor Swift. I'm sure you all know her. Come on up Taylor!”
“Hey girl,” Taylor said in her mic as I looked back and saw her hugging Kourtni and Tyler. “Well, Kourtni and I are going to do one of my songs. Tyler is going to play the guitar for us. You ready Kourtni?”
“I'm ready,” Kourtni said sounding confident as ever.
Friday night beneath the stars, In a field behind your yard, You and I are painting pictures in the sky. Sometimes we don't say a thing, Just listen to the crickets sing. Everything I need is right here by my side. And I know everything about you. I don't wanna live without you.
I'm only up when you're not down, Don't wanna fly if you're still on the ground. It's like no matter what I do. Well, you drive me crazy half the time The other half I'm only trying to let you know That what I feel is true. And I'm only me when I'm with you.
Just a small town boy and girl Living in the crazy world, Trying to figure out what is And isn't true. And I don't try to hide my tears, My secrets or my deepest fears. Through it all nobody gets me like you do. And you know everything about me. You say that you can't live without me.
I'm only up when you're not down, Don't wanna fly if you're still on the ground. It's like no matter what I do. Well, you drive me crazy half the time. The other half I'm only trying to let you know That what I feel is true. And I'm only me when I'm with you.
When I'm with anybody else, It's so hard to be myself. And only you can say...
That I'm only up when you're not down, Don't wanna fly if you're still on the ground. It's like no matter what I do. Well, you drive me crazy half the time. The other half I'm only trying to let you know That what I feel is true. And I'm only me, Who I wanna be... Well, I'm only me when I'm with you. With you.
I watched as Kourtni, Tyler, and Taylor made their exit out the front door. In doing so they had to pass right by my table. Kourtni didn't even notice I was sitting there, but then again I didn't expect her to. After all I had changed my look a little.
-When a Heart Breaks-
I got back to my hotel room and threw myself onto my bed. I picked up my cell phone and scrolled through my phone book. Several times I passed by Kourtni's name and thought about calling her, but I couldn't get up enough courage to call her. After all, I was the one who pretty much broke up with her. I was the one who sent her that email.
“Alright Teddy...you have to do this,” I told myself.
And I did. I went back to her name and pressed send.
“Hello,” Kourtni answered.
“Hey...it's me,” I said. “We need to talk.”

Chapter 2:
“Baby, my heart can't agree on the status between you and me and where we're standing.” - Dave Barnes “Butterflies”
-Teddy's POV-
“It's been a year, and you're just now deciding we need to talk?” Kourtni questioned on the other end of the phone call.
“Give me a break,” I told her.
“Why should I? Oh, wait a minute...you've been touring. Poor baby has been too busy.”
“Since when did you develop this attitude?”
“Hm, let's see...the day you broke up with me.”
“Okay.”
“Look Ted, if you aren't going to talk, then I need to be going. Taylor, Tyler and I are going midnight bowling.”
“I think we need to meet up and talk...face to face. I can't do this over the phone.”
“Whatever,” Kourtni sighed. “Come to the bowling alley. I'll be there. We can talk when you get there...but make it snappy. I don't like having to miss too much of my bowling game.”
“Okay...I will be there in a few.”
My chance to finally win Kourtni back had finally come. I just hoped she would be forgiving and take me back. I was sure it would take a little time for her to say she wanted me back, but I was willing to wait. I just wanted her back.
-When a Heart Breaks- -Kourtni's POV-
“AH! YAY!” I screamed as I bowled a strike. I turned around and gave Tyler a hug. Tyler picked me up and spun me around.
“Good job Kourt,” he said with a smile.
“Thanks Ty...your turn.”
“Watch me bowl a strike.”
“More like a gutterball,” Taylor said with a laugh.
“Ha, ha, and ha...very funny Taylor,” Tyler said as he picked up his bowling ball and prepared to bowl.
“Hey Tay...let's make noises when he gets ready to release the ball,” I whispered to Taylor.
“Good thinking,” she whispered back.
“HAMBURGERS!” Taylor and I said aloud as Tyler let go of the ball and watched it roll right into the gutter.
“That was not nice. I'm not going to go bowling with you two ever again,” Tyler said, making himself sound like a two year old.
“It's okay Ty. I still heart you,” I smiled as I blew Tyler a kiss.
“Thanks...I will save that kiss for a rainy day,” Tyler said.
“Hey Kourt, don't turn around...but Teddy is here,” Taylor told me.
“It's cool Tay. I told him to come. We need to talk...or so he says.”
“Good luck with that,” Tyler said.
-When a Heart Breaks- -Teddy's POV-
Kourtni gave a quick little wave to Taylor and Tyler before walking my way. When she reached where I was standing, she grabbed my hand and led me into the eating room of the bowling alley.
“What is it?” she asked.
“I just wanted to see you again...wanted to talk to you. By the way, you did great tonight. It's a shame you gave up singing,” I told her.
“Yeah...whatever.”
“Stop with that attitude. That isn't the Kourtni I know.”
“I've changed over the past year Teddy, and it's all been because of you. But that's cool because I'm with Tyler now.”
“Oh,” I said as I felt my heart sink into my chest.
“Yep. So, is there anything else you needed with me? If not I am going to get back to my...” Kourtni started, but I cut her off during the middle of her sentence. I pulled her in close to me and gave her a kiss. “Um...I better go.”
“No...don't go, please.”
“I have a boyfriend Teddy. You can't just go around kissing me like that.”
“But Kourt, I still love you.”
“I'm sorry Ted, but I don't love you. I have moved on to someone new.”
“You can't even look me in the eye when you say that. Obviously you aren't in love.”
“Maybe I'm not in love. Maybe I'm not even DATING Tyler, but I'm sure as hell not in love with you anymore. Teddy, you broke my heart. I thought we were going to get married. Then you changed all of that with one little e-mail.”
“My career was taking off Kourtni. You know that.”
“SO WHAT? We promised we were going to make it work. REMEMBER,” Kourtni said as she held up her hand and showed me the promise ring I had given her. “I never took it off...even now.”
“You actually believed in that thing?”
“Why wouldn't I Teddy? I wanted to make it work, so I believed in the ring. I believed we were going to work it all out, but no...I was wrong. It's a good thing that you are here now because I'm going to give it back to you. I don't have a need for it anymore,” Kourtni said as she took off the ring and placed it in the palm of my hands.
I grabbed Kourtni and pushed her up against the wall. I stood in front of her and leaned towards her, like I was going to give her a kiss, but I really wasn't.
“I love you,” I whispered.
“Get off of me,” Kourtni said as she pushed me off of her and started out of the room.
“Get back here!” I called out after her as she ran towards Tyler.
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” she screamed as she was comforted in Tyler's arms.
“Dude...just leave her alone,” Tyler said.
“Dude...don't tell me what to do,” I told Tyler.
“Listen, I don't want to fight you because frankly, I would kick your ass. Just leave her alone, get back to wherever you came from.”
“You would kick I disagree? You're nothing but a skinny little wimp.”
“Look who is talking,” Tyler said as he let go of Kourtni and motioned for her to get behind him.
“I may be skinny, but I am not a little wimp.”
“That's what you think,” Tyler said as he punched me in my face.
“You punch like a girl,” I said as I returned the favor and punched Tyler.
We exchanged a few more punches before someone attempted to break us up. Surprisingly it was Kourtni who broke us apart.
“Taylor...take Tyler to his car. I'll handle Teddy,” she told Taylor.
“Will do,” Taylor nodded as she grabbed Tyler's hand and led him out of the bowling alley.
“I can't believe you Teddy. Tyler wasn't doing anything to you. All he did was tell you to leave,” Kourtni said.
“OH MY WORD...did you not SEE what he did? HE punched me first. I was defending myself.”
“Bull. You are trying to seem all 'tough guy' in front of me, but I hate to tell you...I do not find that sexy.”
“Look, I'm sorry. Okay?” I said as I broke away from Kourtni's grip and walked towards the entrance of the bowling alley. “Just forget I ever came to talk to you. Obviously we aren't going to be able to work it out. I'll see you...never.”
“Teddy...wait,” Kourtni said as I felt her reach out and grab my arm.
“No...forget about it,” I said, yanking my arm away from her grip once more. “I should have never called you. I knew this was a mistake. I'm so stupid.”
“Hold it right there,” Kourtni said as she stood in front of me and stuck her hand out to stop me from going any further. “Number one, I'm glad you called me. Number two, this isn't a mistake. Number three, you are NOT stupid. If anyone is stupid, it would be me.”
“Why do you think you're stupid? You haven't done anything.”
“I'm stupid for what I haven't done.”
“Okay?”
Rather than say something else, Kourtni kissed me.
“I better go check on Ty. Um...I will talk to you later,” Kourtni said as she turned around and hurried out of the bowling alley.
