ahhh. finally. sort of depressing.. but it'll get better ;]]
"Soo.." Teddy mumbled and held my hand and swung it around.
I bit my lip, about 4 minutes ago, I was probably the most nervous that I could ever be in my lifetime. Sitting in the doctor's office, I was so extremely nervous, who knew what the outcome could be?! I was nervous about telling Teddy, too.
I grabbed the report out of my bag and shoved it towards him "Read it yourself.." I mumbled.
I let go of his hand and walked towards the car.
I looked back and saw Teddy slowly scanning through the information, and finally pointing to a spot and slowly making his way towards me and the car.
I sat in the car and slammed the door while Teddy popped his head in.
I bit my lip and tried not to cry, he got in and gave me a hug "Shh..It's alright..it doesn't matter to me.."
I nodded and tried to stop the tears. He wiped my eyes with his sleeve and started the car.
Yeah, I had gotten myself excited for nothing. I'll stick to my theory from now on and stop having such high hopes.
Teddy pulled to the side and stopped the car. He looked at me, I avoided looking into his eyes.
He grabbed my hands and stared straight into my eyes. "Haylie.."
I looked and him and breathed heavily, hiccuping occasionally. He kissed my forehead "Okay, let's get you home.."
I nodded and rubbed my eyes, they started to sting from all the tears.
Teddy pulled into my driveway and I slowly got up and walked towards the door. I rang the doorbell like mad, I'm pretty sure Matt is home..
After a couple minutes, Matt opened the door. He looked at me "Dude..why are you crying?"
I pushed him aside and walked up to my room "Go away.." I mumbled
I sat crossed-legged on my bathroom floor. Why the heck am I sitting in here, it's so filthy and gross..
Someone started softly knocking on the door. I looked at the bottom of the door and noticed a note being slid under it.
I picked it up and quickly scanned it
"
" I smiled knowing it was probably Teddy.
I opened the door and walked outside. Teddy was sitting on my bed looking through a ton of old pictures I had stored under my bed.
I smiled and sat down beside him. He smiled and kissed me cheek. "Feeling better?"
I shrugged.
- - - - -
I rang the doorbell to Erin's house as I waited outside in the warm summer air.
Darren suddenly opened the door and stomped out. I slowly waved at him but he was too caught up to notice me.
I walked into Erin's house and walked into the kitchen.
"Erinn.."
She had her head on the table but looked up at me when I called her name. She face was red and her eyes were puffy.
I sat down beside her "My gosh..what happened?!"
She sniffled a bit and shrugged "Me and Darren broke up.."
I stared at her in shock, it never really hit me that they would ever break up. Darren was the nicest person ever and treated Erin like a princess, and they never fought..or not..that I knew of.
"He says..he doesn't have the right feelings for me anymore and that we're better off as friends.."
I gave her a hug "You still love him, dont you?"
She nodded.
I sat down next to Darren on the swings at a park near his house. "So..can I ask you why you broke up with Erin? Like..it's not really all that simple, is it?"
Darren shook his head and kicked the dirt at his feet. "I don't know..I don't have the same feelings for her I did..like..a year ago.."
I shrugged and my phone started to ring
"Hello?"
"Hi there!"
I smiled, everytime Teddy would call me in his cheerful go-lucky voice it'd make my heart beat faster and it'd make me smile.
"So how are you?" I asked
"Mm..could be better if you were right next to me.."
I laughed "Maybe."
"So tonight..are you busy?"
I thought about it for a moment. "Nope."
"Good. Want to come over to my house for dinner?"
I shrugged "Sure! Are you still in New York City?"
He groaned "Yeah, but i'm coming home, like, right now.."
I smiled "Okay then, be safe, I'll see you tonight.."
"Bye bye Haylie, I love you!"
"Love you too, Geiger.."
I closed the phone and looked at Darren. He smiled at me. "Teddy?"
I tried not to smile so I bit my lip. "Yeah.."
He shrugged "Okay, well..how's Erin doing?"
"She's..pretty depresed..."
He looked sad "I'm really sorry.."
"You should call her!" I smiled and handed him my phone. He pushed it away
"Naw, I know what she's like, she's probably going to start sobbing or something..and then i'll feel even worst.."
I rolled my eyes and got off the swing. "I better be going then.."
"Wait!" Darren pulled on my arm and hugged me.
I glared at him "What..are you doing.."
"I know..it's not right..but I have a huge crush on you.."
I stared at him "Ohmygosh..did you break up with Erin because you like me?!?"
He nodded and stared at the ground.
I sat down on the grass and tried not to cry "I can't believe you would do that to her! I can't believe you like me! Ohmygosh..this is so wrong..I feel so bad.."
"Haylie. It's not your fault.."
I shook my head "It is. I never should have even talked to you! I never should have even met you! It's all my fault, she's depressed and it's all because of me!"
I stood up and walked home.
