"Superstar you sit up high on your hill, I know why you're running, Only you know what you've lost..." -- Hanson 'Something Going Round'

Her dream made her realize, that while she did have a crush on Austen, she also needed to decorate her home. She didn't even really have proper bedding in her bedroom. She had left that in California for Tim and Amie and since then she had been using random blankets she had collected over the years every night, assuming that she would eventually break down and buy real sheets and a real bedspread.
She decided to start with her bedroom first, since it needed the most work.
When she had finally decided on a solid white down comforter, she paid for it and left, deciding the sheets would be cheaper at Wal-Mart. She waved at a few people she recognized as she came in and made her way straight to the isle she needed.
After a good fifteen minutes of contemplating between gray sheets and white sheets, she finally decided on the gray ones, not wanting too much white in the room. She also bought a gallon of the same slate blue paint from her dream, and made her way to a cash register.
"You again!" He stated. "Are you stalking me?"
She rolled her eyes and tried not to blush. "Please, don't flatter yourself."
"Painting, huh?" She nodded. "Need help? I get off in a few minutes?"
"You don't have to." She told him. "It's just a small room, no big deal."
He shrugged. "Ok. Oh hey, how did you do on that History test?"
"Ninety, I think. Why?"
"Well, I didn't do so good. Neither did Laynie, she was in here earlier." He waved his hands a little nervously as he spoke. "So I thought it might be a good idea if we all studied together."
She nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good. You guys can come over tonight if you want. I mean, we don't have to study tonight, since theres still a few weeks until the next test, but..."
He nodded. "Cool."
"Yeah, I'll call Laynie and tell her and then you can just come over around... seven?" She suggested and he nodded as he handed her a pen. She wrote her number on the back of her receipt and handed it to him. "See ya."
"Watch out, wicked witch on register two. Better run." He said quietly and she laughed. "I'll call you."
"Bye," she waved and laughed as she grabbed her things and made her way home.

"This is Becca, I'm busy right now, so leave a message." She heard as she stepped out of the shower. She had managed to get paint all over herself in the process of decorating her bedroom, and it had taken a good twenty minutes to get it all off in the shower.
"Hey Becks, its Ted. I was just wondering if you got the invitation yet and what your answer was. Call me ba-"
She hurried to pick up the phone before he hung up. "Hey. Sorry I was in the shower."
"Oh, ok. So did you hear the rest of what I said?"
"Yes I did. And since you begged so nicely, I guess I will be there." She told him. "With a guest, I just don't know who yet, I haven't talked to Julie yet, but it will probably be her."
"Oh ok, thats fine, I'll just tell Milla that some of my family R.S.V.P.'d at the last minute." She rolled her eyes at how she couldn't be introduced as his friend.
"Ok. So I'll see you in a couple weeks." She told him as her doorbell rang.
"Ok. Bye you."
"Bye you," she copied him and hung up the phone as someone rang the doorbell again.
She looked at the clock, seeing that she still had two hours until either of her friends were supposed to be there.
"Becca! It's me!" She heard Julie's voice on the other side and she ran to open the door.
"Hi!" She said out of breath as she opened the door to see Julie's face. "I was just talking about you."
"Oh."
"Yeah, I was going to ask you if you wanted to go to California in a couple weeks. I have to go to Teddy's wedding and it's totally lame, but I don't want to go alone."
"Oh, um, I already have plans. Sorry, I was just going to tell you that I'm engaged!" She said excitedly as she held her left hand out for her cousin to see. "Matt proposed last night."
"Wow, that's awesome, Jules!"
She squealed with happiness. "I know. I have to go! I have to tell Lois! Omigosh and Tyra! Ohmigosh! Bye!" She was already halfway down the driveway when she waved, but Becca just laughed at her as she left.
"What am I going to wear?" She asked herself as she shut the door and made her way back to her room.
Her phone rang again and she rolled her eyes. "Hello?"
"Hey, sorry, its Ted again." He said, as if she couldn't recognize his voice.
"Yes, I know." She laughed as she searched for a pair of pants in her closet.
"I just wanted to talk. You've been avoiding me, and now that you've answered... twice, I just want to talk."
"Ok, what do you want to talk about?" She laughed.
"I don't know. Whats been going on with you? Are you still playing the guitar?"
"No. I haven't really had time," she lied. She had plenty of time, she just didn't want to play because she thought about him every time she looked at the silly instrument.
"Oh, well that sucks, because you're good at it." He stated and she nodded to herself as she pulled a teal tank top over her head. "But if you don't have time, you don't have time. Anything new?"
"Julie's engaged. Oh and she can't go with me, but I'm sure I can still find somebody to go." She told him. "I just don't know who yet. Maybe Laynie."
"Ok, thats fine. I don't need to approve your date to my wedding, Becca. It could be Brad Pitt for all I care. I just want you to be there, ok?"
"Ok." She laughed and rolled her eyes at his comment. She didn't even like Brad Pitt.
"Oh, I gotta go," he mumbled. "I'll talk to you later. Bye."
She gave the phone a weird look and laughed as she hung it up. Camilla - or "Milla" as he called her - had him whipped, and she found it hysterical.
She found a black v-neck shirt and a pair of dark jeans and pulled them on before making her way to the bathroom to finish getting ready.

"I say we go to that place," Laynie suggested as they all sat around in her living room.
They both gave her confused looks and she laughed. "You know, the knew one. The pizza place."
"Oh, the one that's got all those psychedelic paintings?" Austen nodded his head. "I know what you're talking about."
"I'm still lost," Becca laughed and they dove into explaining it to her at exactly the same time. "Ok, ok. Just take me there, ok? " She laughed at her two friends.
However, when they got there, they had no idea that they would have to wait at least an hour for an empty booth.
"Oh man, I'm starving," Austen complained as he pretended to eat Becca's shoulders.
"Stop it," she swatted him away. "Shoulders are not food."
"But I bet they'd taste good." He stated, "I mean, since I'm hungry and all. I could probably eat anything right now and it would taste good."
"Nice save," Laynie mumbled from the opposite side of Becca so only she and Becca could hear.
"I see how it is. You're a cannibal, and you think I'm the tastiest person you've ever seen. You're only my friend because you want to stick me in the oven and roast me." She joked and he laughed.
"You caught me." He held his hands up as she and Laynie both laughed as the hostess signaled their booth was ready.
"Yay food!" He exclaimed as they reached the table and sat down, with the two girls on one side and Austen on the other.
Two whole pizzas later, they arrived back at Becca's house. They hadn't planned on coming in a two in the morning, but after eating, they got ice cream and just sat around in a little park acting goofy and taking pictures of each other acting goofy.
"I'm going to bed," Laynie said groggily as she stumbled around the house, looking for somewhere to crash.
"Turn left, there's a guest bedroom with the most comfortable futon in the world!" Becca called after her, and when she heard her friend pull the bed away from the wall, she laughed.
"Look at your face in that one!" He laughed as he pointed at a picture of her and Laynie standing at the top of a slide acting like bodybuilders.
"You like it," she joked as she pulled the camera away from him. "Look at that one! Your face!"
He blushed as she moved on to one of the two of sitting on a tree stump, back-to-back, looking over their shoulders at one another.
'We're cute together,' she thought as she turned to say something to him, but noticed he had stood up like he was going to leave.
"Where are you going?"
"I should probably get home." He whispered.
"You can stay here. The couch makes a pretty comfortable bed." She offered, and for a minute, he acted like he would refuse, but he finally agreed and helped her transform it into a bed. "I'll get you some blankets."
He nodded and sat on the edge of the bed while he waited. When she came back, she noticed he was rubbing his face tiredly and she couldn't help but think how cute he was.
"Here ya go." She said. "The bathroom is the first door on your right if you need it."
He nodded. "Ok. Goodnight."
She smiled at him, blushing a little. " 'Night."
She couldn't believe she had just told him he could stay there for the night. She also couldn't believe that she was openly admitting she had feelings for him to herself. She had never done that before.
Without even changing out of her clothes, she climbed into bed and went straight to sleep.

Ok, what did you think??
I think it was a little boring, mostly a filler sort of chapter...
But I hope you guys like it!
By the way, just so you can have an idea of who I'm basing 'Austen' off of, its David Cook.
I thought he could make a perfect character for a story. Hehe
*Let me know what you think!
